Meanwhile, they've cancelled the western release of Mega Man Battle Network: Operation Shooting Star. I was really looking forward to the possibility of finally fighting revamped versions of Crashman and Crystalman.
Nothing was revamped. It was identical to the original Battle Network but it had a single extra scenario. This is why it sold poorly: people bought it when it came out on GBA and didn't feel like re-buying the exact same game.
As for the MMO, there's "Mega Man Online" coming to Korea, so this might be the international version of that.
I think the evolution of Mega Man got it right. They give us a ton of sequels of the same thing because we love it. If they want to change something about it, they start a whole new series.

Wtf? I think I may have an understanding of what your talking about, but I can't be sure.

You're RegalSin, aren't you?
Haha, I tried so hard to interpret his words, but it made my head hurt. I got ice cream instead...
I was expecting something more mind blowing. Looks like a bad fan game.

Inafune doesn't look old enough to have created Mega Man 20 years ago.

inafune didn't create megaman. I don't know why he keeps saying that. He signed on to do art halfway through the creation process of the first game. he didn't even get a developmental job until the second game.
megaman x6 sucked, and x4 and x5 weren't very good either.
aside from the horrendous character sprite, I'm not sure how this looks like a BAD fan game. A fan game maybe, but not a bad one. it looks like lots of fun. I must admit it's not quite what i was expecting, though.

FNJ, you know perfectly well how I feel when Mega Man is badmouthed in any way.

Master Rahl guide us. Master Rahl protect us. In your light we thrive. In your mercy we are humbled.
I love Megaman to death, but let's be serious here. You can't, in good nature, tell me that X6 wasn't an awful rush job that was nearly unplayable. I'm all for loving something, but completely overlooking it's downfalls is no better than a woman who falls in love with a guy, only to find out he's an abusive drunk, but stays with him anyway because she loved him at one point.

I'll admit that X6 was difficult to work with at first, but I found a way and I've enjoyed it like just about everything else in the franchise ever since.

Because he did all of the character designs and art both in-game and on paper. Somebody said "Hey make a robot named Rockman" and he drew one. It's a perfectly reasonable claim.

There were jumps that were literally impossible to make with certain characters and armors. There were upgrades that you needed, but if you didn't get them fast enough, they'd disappear for the rest of the game. There were random weather effects that made levels insanely unplayable that occurred without rhyme or reason. That's just bad design.

I won't claim to be a know it all, but I was pretty sure the "art of megaman" book that udon released has him quoted as saying that he only designed three or four of the original robot masters, and that he had trouble doing the pixel art and had to get other people to do alot of that work.

I always make sure to get everything in Mega Man X6. If I lose a Reploid, I just hit Reset. There is no reason in the game to ever play as unarmored X. If there's a random weather effect, I just power on through it. Sure, I lose lives like crazy, but that just motivates me more to finish it. AS BOTH CHARACTERS.

I am mildly interested to see the full breadth of characters that you will be able to use.

Okay, whatever. Enjoy your trainwreck of a rush job. I don't really see a reason to continue this discussion. Chuck Norris is the only person that I know of that can defeat a brick wall in tennis.
