| That's Gafgarion. I either broke or stole his sword in both encounters |
I don't think I had knight skills.. I know on his final betrayal, on my second play through i knew it was coming, so i stripped him naked.
On my second play through I was quite the beast. I got Cloud and many of the other extras.
I was a Ninja with dual wield, I had Excalibur, and Queen's Gaurd on Ramza. So he had haste and protection from start on all battles. He attacked twice generally killing anything. Had Hamedo, so a ok chance that if someone attacks him, in range of his attack, he'll attack them first dealing a ton of damage (twice), and cancel they're attack.
Then I had Ramza's Squire moves (guts, ultima... and all that cool stuff), paired with Monk moves.. So I had range with ultimata, and monk moves. Aoe with Monk stuff, and I coudl heal myself adn revive others with monk. Then I either had Fly or +3 or Teleport for movement.
One thing my younger brother discovered, that though my Hamedo was cool, and how the move read it should have been better than his choice.. But he used Blade Grasp instead, and blade grasp was supposed to A.) have a chance to stop physical atttacks B.) not be able to stop ranged attacks.
Instead not only did it work 100% of the time, it worked for both close range and long range attacks. So the only way to kill his characters were with magic spells, or magic guns. He basically made my epic Ramza useless with his 100% block rate if we were too fight, id' have to change what e does. His monk skills would still be good. Hamedo read similarly to Blade Grasp, but just said has a chance to attack enemeies before they atatck you, and it worked for all attacks.
So if a long range guy of yours was about to be shot, and you had hamedo, you could shoot that person first, and also not get shot yourself. Hamedo was cool but Blade Grasp overall, how it was operating in our game, was better. Way more consistent.

| Lightning Stab while he's a Holy Knight was doing 250 dmg to me and if I didn't break his sword on my first attack, I'd be dead. Poo-tastic. Once he transforms, shit gets bad quickly, especially if he fires off a Cyclops. |
If you count the squares on lightning stab, you can move in a pattern so he doesn't do the attack much. For me he was either too far away, or so close he just walked up adn waked me. And I just danced away from him doing Yell, or Scream whichever we had the time, and had hi-potions that healed myself for 70 every time I was hit by him. Just run scream auto-pot, and manual pot as neccessary. Eventually you go so fast you can attack him like 3 turns in a row. and the speed boost persists into the next phase of the fight if i recall right. (that might not be true)
