I've been mulling over the idea of Fast Food Mascots vs. Capcom that username suggested. I really fucking want to use Mac Tonight in a fighting game.

Hamburgler's finisher shown is him shoving the fry guys down The King's throat, and the Tap out move with the Taco Bell Dog is him pulling an Iggy dry humping the opponent.

If the next Capcom vs. game doesn't have Franziska von Karma, I'm giving up on the whole series.

I don't see the difference, if the fan games are of good quality.

Is it just that you would prefer to have to spend fifty dollars for something that fans would release for free?

Probably because it doesn't go through quality control or thorough testing by actual paid testers. Instead, the people who get the games are the ones who end up testing a full product for free, so 6 or 7 different versions of that release are made. But in all, I don't mind fan games.

I want character endings, unlockable characters, an end boss, and professional-looking sprites.

Most fan games deliver none of these things. Bomb Man looks terrible in that first pic. Like, 1992 shareware PC game terrible.

I've been wanting to see Nemesis in a fighting game ever since I played Resident Evil 3.

It'd also be nice to see Chris, Sheva, Wesker, and Jill (from RE 5), Dante (from Devil May Cry), Arthur (from Ghosts n' Goblins), Firebrand (from Gargoyle's Quest), and Ryu (from Breath of Fire).

More RE chars/Dante are an obvious choice for Capcom. I like where you are going with BoF characters though, did not even think of that franchise.

Also, I am pretty confident that they could make Bionic Commando a pretty sweet character.

What's tough about the attempt to not go overboard with SF characters off with the main characters.

I mean, Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Dan and Sakura all look the same, but they play so damn differently and have such separate fan bases that it'd be hard not to include them in it.

I would include:

Dante
Chris Redfield
Zero
Frank West
Wesker
Nemesis
Donovan
That cunt from the first Lost Planet
Jean Reno
Samanoske
Arthur
The plane from 1942
Someone from Breath of Fire
Nathan Spencer
Super Joe
like 3 people from Power Stone
Chip and Dale

throw in whoever else you want

Franziska von Karma
Kay Faraday
Master.D (as the last boss, naturally)
That Sphinx boss from Power Stone 2

You know what would be fun? Saturday Night Live vs. Capcom. Imagine 35 years worth of SNL characters to choose from.

If we're including Disney/Capcom characters, Scrooge McDuck would be a choice pick.

One of the stages would be the dashboard of the Roxbury Guys' car. The characters fight in a giant version of the most memorable SNL sketch. How could it not work?

not really. Most of these projects go through beta testing that's just as rigorous as a retail game. There are entire forums dedicated to bug testing for some of these games.

Unlockables, end bosses and character endings are fairly moot, considering fan games deliver on all three.

I'll give you bomb man, but are you really gonna tell me that these aren't professional looking?

It's not just mega man characters either...

I don't know if it was any good, but there was this game called "Capcom Fighting Jam". I guess it worked on the idea of "Capcom VS Capcom"...?

That was the Japanese name of Capcom Fighting Evolution. It wasn't very good.

it was fun for to play as red earth characters, considering CPS III wasn't emulated yet, but the game sucked.
