one of the greatest one I remember going for on blue was getting Mew by moving the truck near the S.S. Saint Anne

I remember trying so many of those that when there finally was a real way to catch Mew, I didn't believe them, and missed out for years.

I still question it... was Mew even around prior to the Americanization of Pokemon?

Yes, he existed, albeit he was not created by Ken Sugimori (the guy who made most of the pokemon sprites). Instead, Game Freak programmer Shigeki Morimoto decided to put it in as a secret character at the last second in the Japanese release.

I still think that the rumors of the "pokegods" (Pikablue, Charcolt, Venustoise). being behind Bills house were just mean.

Oh god, I remember trying every little trick to get them and followed the instructions to get them that when they didn't work I nearly cried. Though, Missingo was one glitch that I loved indefinately.

Simple rule, never catch a missingo and make sure either a nugget or a master ball were in the 6th or 8th slot

You can actually get Mew, just not via the truck.

One of the greatest lies I fell for, was from my friend. He told me that you could get into the Light Temple by doing some weird thing inside the windmill. The thing is, a weird light appeared if you stood on one of the columns the right way, so I always believed him.

I watched the video of some girl getting a mew by messing with the Gambler on some route...

Or the person in the grass to the left of Nugget Bridge

Seriously, I love that glitch. The only thing that irritates me, is if you want to get any of the starter Pokemon, you have to wait until you get a very high leveled Pokemon in order to have a high special, since the corresponding number is also high for them.

It's great to use to get the pokemon who aren't in your version.

I never played Red/Blue too much as a kid, I just picked up Red a little while ago, should I start playing it?

I never played it but kids I new did and I remember some of the lies and the kids tried them a lot. Once I got pokemon gold I probably fell for some of them as well.

Ummm yes...you should play it immediately.

I know that this is going to sound weird, but I played the game before it was super popular. And after the show and cards came out, it seems to have lost some of it's magic, as I experienced it without any regard for what I was going to come across next. It was literally like a safari, where I would travel around and come across these things, not knowing what the hell I was going to come across next. It was an innocent time. Also, I remember I spent an extremely long time in Diglett cave leveling up my Wartortle and Pigeotto, I was a machine by the end of that game.

There are a crapload of Mortal Kombat hoaxes I remember trying quite a bit, like finding Ermac in MK1, trying to uppercut someone onto the hooks in MKII or into one of living tree's mouths, etc.

I think we need to start a video game lie, spread it out through the internet and hopefully it catches on and we all become famous...

How about this: You can make the 360 HD-DVD player read Blu-ray discs after you fuck around with the ribbon near the drive. Cut it or something.

You should totally check out the IRC channel.
While you're at it, go check out my band, Her Majesty's Heroines.

I remember something about how you could unlock Sonic and Tails in Super Smash Brothers Melee if you could take out 20 people in one Cruel Melee run. Somehow I killed 40 of 'em with Roy's B + Up abuse. No unlock. I raged.

Yeah, unfortunately we learned about that one way too late. We had a laugh with it, but beforehand, I tell you, I raged to new plateaus.
