Rocky IV was fucking amazing. It was easily the best of the original four sequels, followed by III, then II, and in dead last, V.

Do not diss Dolph Lungren. He's a badass, and Syd is right. Rocky IV is the most Rocky of the Rocky movies, being primarily montages and so hyper patriotic that he topples communism in the process of beating this giant monster that would dwarf even a normal sized person much less five foot six inch Stallone.
We may look at this as cheezy now, but there was a point where beating up commies in the cold war was profoundly cathartic, relieving the tension that comes with a planet-wide mexican standoff for 40 years. Rocky embraced the 80's and became what it was becoming instead of what it was, and thus achieved a quality all its own.

I like rocky III the most out of the sequels, followed by balboa. IV is fun for it's cheese factor though.
I just feel that III really brought rocky down. he lost mickey, he got beat fair and square, and he became friends with an old rival to reinvent himself. balboa was great in the way it handled rocky being unable to let go of his past and stuff.

I hated IV just all around. Of all the movies, I felt that was the most out of place in my eyes and it just seemed like a wrestling storyline more than anything. And I hated how they killed Apollo.
Given the rate of them killing off people, they should've killed off Paulie. He always pissed me off.
And I actually liked Rocky V outside of the plot at the very beginning.

This movie could go horribly, horribly wrong.
Mickey Rourke looks rigoddamndiculous. I fear Jon Favreau might have skipped a step and jumped directly into the 'Third Part of the Trilogy Blows' Zone. We couldn't get at least two solid movies out of Iron Man?
And yes, I am prejudging a movie that doesn't come out for two months.

The movie looks good outside of Mickey, I'm hoping he's a red herring and the real villian is Sam Rockwell. The scene where Mickey is whipping those things around...yeah goofy.

Maybe I am trying to psyche myself down for this so I'm not disappointed. Or maybe I just think you could take down a man with whips for hands ,yet an exposed chest, with a freaking .22. Game over.

I'd delete this if I could to avoid doubleposting...but this was moved from another topic.

Welcome to the forums Klimba, where we strongly discourage double, triple, and quadruple posting.
And yeah, of all the Iron Man villains they could've used I was never sold on Whiplash. Crimson Dynamo or Titanium Man seem like much better candidates, but that's just my opinion.

Yeah, sorry man. Learning fast here. Also didn't know my original posts were sent to this thread so I realize I was being redundant earlier.
Hacker: War Machine, in the comics, was originally Tony Stark's pilot and actually filled in as Iron Man when Stark couldn't handle his drinking. Eventually they built a suit for him, which is War Machine.
In the movie it looks like he'll just be an Iron Man sidekick.

Ya, in the original books.
I like what they did with Rhoadey in the Ultimate Iron Man incarnation, I thought the story arc for that was unbelievable.

What was the problem with using Mandarin again? I heard they thought he was out of date, but come on.

I think they might want to go what's more 'believable' in the real world. Since Madarin uses 'magic' rings for a lot of his powers I think they figured it would be too ridiculous. But that's easily fixed by just eliminating the magic part of his powers and sticking with his ass-kicking abilities.
Or is it just too cliched to have yet another villian that's an Asian guy who's a master at martial arts?

Master of martial arts is not a real threat to man with supersuit.
In any case he doesn't really fit thematically, where the current iron man villain is the military industrial complex as represented by a giant robot piloted by the big Lebowski.
