Just let our troops go home.
Let those Iraqi bastards blow each other into oblivion. Just don't use any weapons that hurt the rest of us.
Just a million less terrorists off the earth.

You have to realize though that currenlty we are very wasteful and have by in large obesity in our country, and aren't using a farming to it's full potentail... etc...
And plus it's not accounting for technological advancement, in teh food industry etc... we might be able to one day take enery and convert it to a form which will be nutritious for humans...
Or the fact that we might one day be able to make the moon inhabitiable, it already has water on it... But it lacks , well the largest problem is an atmosphere for protection.... but who knows.. either way if it comes down to a food problem the neccessary amount of people will die of naturally as we'd expect to happen, that's much differnt than activiely killing people off, or standing back while their killed.. if they're nothing you can do about it.. as in only so much food, only X number of people can live or whatever that doesn't hold the same moral wrongness as murdering someone...
Also there probably will be new laws regardnig how many children per family etc... to help curve over population, adn if no sex before marriage was an actual law in all countries i'm sure that would help as well....
The last I heard, as of right now, we can sustain the Earth's population...

I've been talking about this shit for years... and not just killing mass groups of people.. I mean the limit of the world's population. I'm waiting for most countries to put in legislation a mandatory birth limit like the one China has now.
I mean.. it's inevitable. People like to think that with new techologies and sciences that we can sustain a near-infiinite amount of people... but that's plain retarded and very unthought-worthy.
It's not only a matter of resources, but a matter of space/land. I rant over and over again how useless graveyards are and how much more useful they would be if it were used for more housing. Hell, I'm sure that a higher percentage of the dead are treated better than those of the living. All these religious measures we take beause we can't get over it is ridiculous. At least in some European countries, they bury people "standing up" instead of lying down, so that helps. Again, China comes in first, because as far as I know, they tend to cremate their dead... whether it be a private uni-burning or a big pile of bodies that they just light on fire like a pile of grass. Sure, it sounds crude, but I think they have the right idea. Why spend the extra means unnecessarily preserving the memory of the dead (which is what our brains and word of mouth is just as good for) when we need it to sustain the ever-growing population?
The dead most likely don't even care! If most religions dictate that our Earthly body is just some sort of temporary "vessel" for our spirit/soul/whatever, then why do they go through all the bullshit of wasting resources on the body? At least the Egyptians believed that they would need a bunch of gold and their favorite toys, etc. in the afterlife. Many other religious doctrines claim that this is just a temporary thing, yet people contradict their beliefs by attempting to redundantly preserve the memories of those they care about. Such selfishness will be a major factor in the demise of the human race if something is not changed soon.

Yeah, if you're looking to start a war, ban sex --- sheesh!
I know! We will give IQ/Common Sense Tests to everyone at age 12, those who pass can continue on living the way they always have, those who fail will be sterilized! The problem of stupidity should be eliminated in under 50 years!

what i said had nothing to do with banning sex, that would kill us all anyway and an overpopulation problem would be teh least of our worries.
Edit/; btw the technological argument is a fairly common one, the reason being, is because history has showed us for that to be the case.. the world has been stated to be doomed numerous times, saying we'll run out fo energy by the 1990's blah blah plenty of other stuff... and what happens, well we learn to raton things better, we find more place to get that kind of energy, adn we have found alternate energy sources it's 2006 now... i think that energy crisis, said to destroy/ruin everything is a little over-rated. You're right though that it's a issue that needs to be addressed...

No offense, but I'm pretty sure as far as you're concerned sex might as well be banned...

I'm taking that point away from JonSnow, as he's already made the joke. Granted it was about me and wasn't terribly funny then either, but he needs to come up with something more original than "Anyone who talks on the internet has never had sex except me".
I tried to read your actual posts, but you basically lost me at "we might be able to one day take enery and convert it to a form which will be nutritious for humans... " Talk about a new definition for gas guzzlers! Sorry I can't make a better argument, but I'm getting a little tired. I gotta go find a power outlet to plug my stomach into.

So you took away the point because of a poorly-thought-out argument that ends with "because I'm hungry"?

Look, I brought the FAAAAAAG DRAAAAAAG to this forum and I can take it away. And I ended it with an example of how ridiculous a notion it was, not by saying "I'm hungry". (If anything it was actually "I'm gonna be late for work", though that's not what I wrote I know)

Okay one I thought i had quoted Mr. Bomberman, are you Mr. Bomberman?
Secondly, the originality comes from the style the idea was shown in... anyone can say something in a dull, expected manner.. it's branching off of things and making a relavent and comprehensible joke in a new interesting manner that makes it funny. Because if the alternative were funny then people would just laugh at seeing everyday things they always see, but obviously that's not the case.
And btw I am hungry.. thanks for taking away the point though..
All you had to say was Jon Snow is new blah blah blha.. people cuss on this forum what is wrong with individuals making crappy and dull (according to you) light jokes toward people? can't we have any fun around here any more?
By the Way, if i may ask, S. McCraken who exactly is Mr. Bomber, in relation to you?
Edit: Thanks for taking the point away though : ), I'm assuming that's a good thing, since SmcDonald over here (now that's a lame joke) was all giddy about it...

First, converting energy into food is far away. Two, if people are currently obese then there is no danger of starvation from overpopulation. Economically, when the demand increases enough, people will simply stop eating as often for lack of money. Three, we really don't put a lot of effort into growing food, there isn't the demand for it. Keep in mind that this takes into account the fact that people in other countries often cannot afford it. Starvation currently is often caused by bad economics as much as anything. Marriage bans have classically been unsuccessful, and one child a family has a nasty habit of resulting in dead babies.
And the retort to Mr. Bomberman was weak.

Aren't you the clever one... 1. It was a potential option that is likely to happen in the furture, not the near future... 2. Right which is an argument that it's potentially possible to handle our population (so thanks for supporting me.) 3. Another support for me, thanks, which again goes against the over population issue...
I think, but i don't recall that i mentioed the possibility of inhabititating other planets, it is stated soon that we will be creating a base on the moon by the year 2024 that will be manned year round, and people will stay there 6 months at a time.. it also will rely mostly on solar energy... so on that end our future looks birght : ) And... I guess what i'm trying to say is thanks for the added support of my points, except the energy to food one...Robo

I've never met Mr. Bomberman.
The only people I know from this forum are Syd, Jeebus, and BlackZorak.
And I don't remember being giddy. Obviously the point was given in error.

That's probably my favorite Regalism, and he said that at least once or twice more in other threads, one of them, obviously enough, the "Zero is NOT Forte" thread.

I dont know if humanity will turn up smelling like roses or end up pushing up daisies. What I do know is that killing half of the population will... kill off half of the human population. If our solution to preventing death involves a lot of killing, were doing something wrong.

Basically, death is a natural occurance in the (I know it sounds cheesy) Circle of Life. It order for something to go on and on... there has to be a cycle. By preventing all this death, we are slowing down that cycle and it's just going to make things more frenzied soon enough. If the cycle stops... well... bye-bye.
Since this thread about killing people for the sake of humanity has turned into another RegalSin festival. Let me just say what everyone's thinking: RegalSin needs to be part of that half-population. And let's kill Forte too. Nobody really cares for Forte as much as Zero... and when we see Zero at the local RadioShack getting some batteries for his Z-saber, we'll know that Regal was full of shit. Regal, not just full of shit, is like a crock pot full of Bullshit Stew that has been cooking on low for 15-20 years.

If it actualyl came to that problem people will naturally die off anyway, due to not enough food for everybody... if technology didn't improve and everything stayed teh same, we'd probably become cannibles, eating our dead... wars would break out over food. so we'd kill eachother that way, and those corpses will be eaten. the poorest people and country would die of first, the south, as opposed ot the north, part of America will get inanely powerful due to being agriculture, there will be a push on scienctist, inventors, and mathematicians to figure out a solution.. the need will force there to be a technological advancement humanity wouldn't just sit back and let over population hit us.. first we'll try and slow it down through legislation and laws, if that doesn't work, we'll press for a solution, if that doesn't work wars will break out over food, cannibalism will ensue, and through these means the populations will be brought down also birth rates will naturally slow as people realize they would not have enough food to provide for themesleves, let alone potential kids..
and a bunch of crap like that will happen, the human race will not extinguish itself through over population, it can't happen.. naturally clost to the minmum amount of people will die if we do nothing, and if we find a technological answer to it, maybe no one will die.
