Kings of the Beach on NES. I don't know why, as a three year old, I had decided to master a volleyball game, but I absolutely ruled that game.

Either Adventure, Yars' Revenge, or the Star Wars game where you're flying the Millenium Falcon all on the Atari 2600.

Was I supposed to put something here?

Chip and Dale for the NES. I couldn't beat any of the games I owned at first, but I rented this one day and finished it in 2 days.

Super Mario World.
I got it and the SNES for Christmas so I got around to beating it sometime the next year, I'd say '93 to be safe.
Found the quick way to Bowser's castle and was floored that I beat it so fast.

Must have been 6 or 7.

If you don't want to count that one because I found the quick way through, then I believe it was either StarFox (SNES) or Kirby's Dreamland (GB).

The first one I can remember besting was Batman on the NES. Yes, the Sunsoft Batman game. I must have had savant-like abilities back then as I tried repeating this feat recently and failed miserably.

I have never beaten that game. Granted, last time I played it was about 15 years ago when it came out, and I haven't tried to play it since then. But the furthest I got when younger was the guy right before the joker

Sunsoft's Batman, like Tim Burton's, came out 20 years ago, not 15.

I love how an Intellivision game has advanced in the title.

Donkey Kong Country, I think it was. First game I ever owned (not counting those NES games someone gave me for the SNES I got for my 4th birthday). I generally sucked at games as a kid, though, so it took me a while to get through it. But I did learn how to curse pretty creatively in the process, so the experience was all worth it.

The Intellivision was advanced!

It was the 1st 16-bit console, and another one wouldn't come out until seven years later.

For me, well, with prior knowledge, I did Zelda: OOT.
Without prior knowledge, the first game I beat was probably Zelda LWDX (though I can't remember whether or not I just looked up hints onlne or beat it legit)
Beating legit, I'd say Sonic Advance on GBA (though I never got the chaos emeralds, and the Sonic series is too easy to even consider having really beat, but I did it with all the characters, even the infamous Amy Rose).
Confirmably beating legit, due to the limits imposed on my game time during childhood, I can't say exactly which game I beat legit first, though I might try digging into more games to beat legit (right now I'm working on System Shock 2).
But if I remember something, I'll post again.
