Ah ok. Well the person who told me that tends to exaggerate all over the place so I figured I'd ask before assuming the game was unplayable or something. xD thanks guys.

I have a friend who plays it on PS3 who says he can't even load a game anymore because of that glitch. It freezes occasionally on me on 360, but that's happened in Elder Scrolls games since at least Morrowind.

There was an error in the PS3 where the higher your save game count was, the worse it ran (low FPS, long load times). I don't know if they've fixed it yet.
As far as I know the save bloating problem is still a major issue. It happens on the PC too but since most people playing it are on higher end gaming machines it really doesn't affect them much. I personally noticed a bit of a bump in load times around 100 hours into a save game but it actually was nice because I discovered that the load screens could be moved when the game wasn't loading in a couple seconds. It has something to do with the radiant quest system trying to keep track of every dead thing and every item being moved and the files just blow up in size until the PS3 can't handle the load anymore. From what I understand it takes playing for nearly 80+ hours on a save for it to really get noticeable.

Ah okay. He regularly dumps like 200+ hours into these kinds of games so I guess it probably became a big issue for him.
Well, shoot. Now I'm wary about getting into it if eventually I won't be able to load a save. :\

I have it for the 360 and I can say, as far as my experience goes, with around 1500 saves and over 300 hours it still loads at the same speed and there is no slowdown when I play.

Hah. Helps that the 360 was their primary development platform and it just got ported to the other systems.

There are still plenty of problems, I just save A LOT to avoid most of them ruining the game for me.

I made my first guy a spellcasting wizard/breton. He was skinny, old, and looked homeless. I named him "Smooth-Ass" Mac Nificient and laughed anytime I found a note with his name on it.

Yeah but I'm saying those are Elder Scrolls' games problems, not 360's. My original Xbox used to freeze on Morrowind all the time, the games are just ridiculously huge and confuse whatever system they're running on sometimes. Those are technical terms of course...
And on the topic of fanboyism, PS3 owners are the most annoyingly vocal about the superiority of their console fan base I have ever encountered. Like maybe it's just in my area, but every asshole I meet who thinks he's a gamer is like "Yo dude, PS3 is so much better than anything else out there, blah blah blah." to the point of where I do get really spiteful whenever PS3 or Sony fucks up somehow and laugh at PS3 owners. I really don't hold that much loyalty to Microsoft, nor do I support a lot of the things they do, but they put out a solid, reliable (at least in this current generation of machines) console that has all the games I want to play and since I rarely play or have interest in multiplayer games, I don't care how much Live costs because I don't need it and I can still download anything I might want through Silver.

What the fuck is with the weapon swapping glitches in this game? I used to be able to press 1 and have it go back and forth between my bow and knife, now it goes bow -> unarmed or knife -> unarmed and can't ever be fixed back the way it was.
edit: nevermind it only swaps like that between bows and one handers...which is fucking retarded because it does it for double swords but not large 2-handers.

All of this talk of Skyrim well after it was released and this is still the first thing I think of whenever I hear it.

Yikes, returned to the game to polish off the main quest, and the voice acting hurts my brain so hard, especially, when you have like three people half-heartedly cheering your name. Doesn't make any big marks on the game, but the writing gets really corny towards the end of the game, and the voice actors just sound embarrassed.

Really? I never thought too much about the voice acting.
Where did you go after beating the main quest, and did you kill the leader of the Greybeards? (trying not to spoil too much)

I didn't kill anyone besides Alduin, and at the end
[SPOILER:ffeea60600]I ended up on top of the Throat of the World with Paathurnax, that dragon you had to capture and a bunch of other dragons congratulating me. Pretty kick-ass ending. [/SPOILER:ffeea60600]

Well, that's weird. I never thought of the voice acting as being embarrassed.
Of course, the sparkly nice graphics might have been distracting me, but still.

I have the 360 version. Most of the freezing I have happens walking through doorways.
But I've been lucky enough to have it perform the autosave before it freezes so it's just a matter of restarting it.
I've had it freeze maybe twice just walking around.
Also I'm having too much fun just playing around being lazy. Like, I'm at the thieves guild right now just doing the random heist quests.
I have a substantial amount of active quests and I'm ignoring all of them just to play around.
Also, giants are a bitch to kill. I had to lure one into an abandoned fortress then snipe it from the walls.

-used the Oghma Infinium glitch and keeps that account for random fun shit-
-giants are tools and easy to kill now-
-feels bad for playing on that account now-

The trick to beating giants is to stagger them over and over. Put a few points into destruction and get dual cast and the impact thing and giants become a cake walk especially with gear enchanted to make spells cost no magicka. The second best way is to get the x15 damage dagger bonus and sneak attack them but it requires a really high sneak skill and some sneak improving gear to pull off every time.
