Would you prefer the 5+ minutes of getting the crowd to go YEAYEA?

Also, I was talking about Edhunter, not Best of the Beast.

I know you were.

But BotB was the Maiden hits album that I had, and I was trying to relate. I would have preferred if "Running Free" weren't on the album at all. Pretty much anything else would have been better. "Virus" was also a terrible choice.

I have never listened to Ed Hunter, or looked at the tracklisting. I got it off eBay shortly after starting the site so I could review the game, which I still need to do.

On the one hand, Edhunter does have Powerslave, but on the other hand, they chop the intro off.

Wasn't Ed Hunter's tracklisting also picked by the fans?

Yea, but somehow I have a hard time believing that a) Iron Maiden was the #1 song, b) Futureal was the #5 song, c) Hallowed Be Thy Name was the #14 song.

1986-1994: The Golden Age of Hip-Hop

1995-2003: The Silver Age of Hip-Hop?

That'd be spot on for me too, actually.

OK, if I had to pick a decade, definitely '90-'00. if I had to pick a period, Golden Age, because it was just fun (and funny.) It was serious sometimes (starting with when NWA started up), but it wasn't most of the time.

You know, sometimes I wonder whether or not NWA was the beginning of mediocrity taking over in hip-hop.

I wouldn't say mediocrity, because they were basically story telling about the shit that went down in the late 80's in Compton/Inglewood/South Central. Now for violence? Hell yes. Explicit sexual lyrics? You bet.

But I'm bias so of course I'll stick up for them, cuz we all know how fucked over Cube got....

Oh I definitely have respect for Cube, its the fact the because violence and explicit sex starting selling massively to rich white suburban kids, if that was the beginning of black artists standing up and thinking more about the bottom line than being true to their music.

Syd, you should seriously review the EdHunter game like, right now. It would be nice to actually find out what happens in the game. I remember getting to level 4 I think, it was a graveyard after you got out of hell. That game is fucking ridiculous, it gets too hard too fast (TWSS) and you have to kill a practically endless amount of enemies. In the first level you kill like 100 dudes with mohawks! Why are all these punks attacking you? Why do you keep killing them?! I WANT ANSWERS SYD.

an addendum to my previous post: Inconsistent club curfews

Rant:

The club that usually has the artists I want to see is the Bluebird. Now one thing I've come to know about these guys is that the main acts usually do not go on until after midnight and go til 2. One of the artists I've seen here was Rakim. The last time I saw him he didn't go on until fucking 1AM. Now tonight, seeing him again it's a good Goddamn thing I didn't stick to my usualy rule (not showing up until Midnight) because tonight, Rakim had to be off the stage at midnight.

WHAT

Forgive me if this has been mentioned already in this thread...but songs with a "whine, whine, whine, SCREAM, whine," format and anything (which is most of what's on the radio) that sounds remotely like Nickleback. Also, I concur with Hacker on ICP.

The fact that most of todays most played songs are either A. A shitty rip off of a classic song B. A merge between rap and hiphop, or C all of the above

That green day changed the face of modern rock

The fact that I will see people with amazing guitars and can't play worth a shit

That I can't keep the radio on unless I hear a classic song.

I apologize for the double post but I can't copy text on my iPod (I didn't get the 3.0 update)

I Hate ICP because in jr high there was a fucking juggalo group that would go around and sing their SHIT all the time. And it didn't help that one of my best friends went juggalo. She's not anymore but it sucked when she was.

And the juggalo group on general.

I would ratger listen to mylie Cyrus for a whole day tthan listen to what they call "music"

Crappy double-bass drumming. I love Dave Lombardo (he does it without sucking), but most double-bass drumming sounds like crap. It's not heavy at all. Drums should POUND, not make a soft tapping sound. Just go with blast beats (as long as they're low enough in the mix so that you can actually hear the riff being played, which most grind bands can't seem to learn) or D-beats if you're doing short songs. Otherwise just stick with traditional drumming.

I dislike tension-building moments that take up more then half of a song's total length.

1. I hate fans of some bands.

E.g. Nirvana. I like Nirvana. They made good music and i enjoy an occasional listen to them. What i hate however is how over the top everyone is about them and Cobain. Go to any Nirvana video and you will see:

"Omgggz i <333 u kurdt, i hav a place for u in mi heart NO U ARE MY HEART Smile, i wish u werent dead, I must love u to conform to the stereotypical teenage viewpoint abt how much life sucks, no how much my life sucks, now i am going to climb up your ass because i am superfan and learn every fact about you bibbity babbity etc."

Now i don't have a problem with people liking them but when i see stuff like this it makes me rage so much. Also the fucking Suicide-Murder debate which continually comes up with the

"LOL KURT HAD SO MUCH DRUGS IN HIM HE COULDN'T HOLD A SHOTGUN LOLOL"

Then you get the

"OMG DONT U COMPARE BAND A TO NIRVANA BECUZ THEY ARE SO MUCH BETTER, caps locks cruise control for cool".

Then you get the people who are like i quote from youtube:

Jakobane (16 hours ago)
You obviously dont know kurt or Nirvana

These people piss me off beyond belief. Translation:

"I am a bigger Nirvana than you, I am up Kurts ass more than you, ergo fuck off and die"

I could go forever.

There is another band that i often read the comments and want to die reading but it has skipped my mind as to who they are.

Like i don't have a problem with people liking bands (why would i?) like i said i like Nirvana but when they come off with stupid shit like this..holy fuck.

2. When people watch covers of bands and then say that it's shit because it didn't cover it EXACTLY like the original.
