I was thinking more on the Game Boy or 64. ._.; But Genesis is cool too, if it wasn't for the fact that, like it has been said before, it didn't have nearly as many memorable games that are still popular today.

Genesis has way more memorable games than the N64. And many more more enduring games that GB and GBC.

Metroid II and Mario Land 2 were great back in the day, but who wants to play them now?

Yeah, Mario Land 2 is actually still pretty playable, as is Mario Land 3. The graphics were pretty crisp and the level design is solid. But Mario Land 1? Not so much. That shit is fucking hideous. And even when it wasn't hideous, it never really felt like Mario.

You know, that's actually way too true. The Mario game that was never a Mario game.

the GENESIS WAS FUCKING OWNAGE!!! (admitedly didn't have quite the pinash of the SNES but still)

here are some fucking genesis titles...

The Adventures of Batman and Robin
this was better than the SNES version since it was basically batman contra, also the epic techno soundtrack for the boss battles blew my mind, I just pause it when I get there because it's so damn cool.

The Story of Thor
Is it zelda, No, but it's still pretty good. The combat in only cardinal directions is lame until you get better weapons that can swing 90-180 degrees instead of the fucking stabbing motion of the dagger.

Vectorman
Vectorman is the shit... end of story.

Technocop
TECHNOCOP IS FUCKING AWESOME!
actually that's a joke, the game was terrible, but the title is righteous.

Street Fucker
this is an actual indy game for the genesis that is available to download through coolroms, you fling cum at each other... wouldn't recommend it for date night... or for anything actually.

Shinobi 3
pretty fun ninja game

Shining Force
basically fire emblem

Strider
some people think strider is fun, I fucking hate strider.

Toejam & Earl
earl is on Andrew's signature, and the whole game is really creative and fun.

MK 2-UMK3
holy shit, actual blood!

Teenage mutant "Hero" Turtles
I have no fucking Idea why it's called hero turtles, but whatever, this game is apparently a fighter with the turtles, it's okay.

Virtua Fighter 2
I preferred it to street fighter 2... flame me all you want, I legitimately thought it was a better fighter.

Golden Axe 1-3
pretty fun with a friend, but combat is really bland, and jump slice fucking murders everything since apparently your enemies can't block it.

Comix Zone
Fucking amazing game, art style is epic, combat is fun as shit, and the tiny puzzles are a nice twist.

Batman Forever
basically a sidescroller Mortal Kombat... oh yeah, WITH FUCKING BATMAN!
this game is really dark, but the enemies have hilarious names that range from Anglophile, to Tim, to Dragonchains (these are the normal cronies that you fight, they each get fucking sweet names), two player is great as well.

ECCO the dolphin
just swimming in general is fun, also it is enjoyable to kick ass and take names as a porpoise.

Genghis Khan 2
this game is supposed to be educational, it isn't... However it's fucking complex and if you figure it out this game is amazing.

Contra Hard Corps
it's not as good as Super C or Contra 4, but it does let you play as a werewolf... so give it some props.

Lost Vikings
maybe my favorite title on the genesis, the puzzle gameplay is truly epic, it puts lemmings to shame (because lemmings fucking sucks)

Phantasy Star 1-4... but especially 4
just good RPGs.

Herzog Zwei
great RTS, split screen is fun as shit, but you do have to read up on the mechanics if you even want to try and play it.

Sonic 1-3 (and Knuckles)
I actually think these games are nowhere near the best games on the genesis. But it's still sonic.

Streets of Rage 1-3, but especially 2
really really really fun. I still like Super Double Dragon more... and of course, it isn't as good as TMNT 3 Manhattan project for the NES.

Dynamite Headdy
weird game... really fucking fun.

Gunstar Heroes
imagine if contra had a melee button, and it automatically activated whenever an enemy got near you. Gunstar heroes fucking has this, you throw anything that touches you... also the constant explosions are fucking sweet. It's contra on steroids.

THERE! I GOT US STARTED! LET'S DO THE GOD DAMN GENESIS TOP 100! Cool

Virtua Fighter 2 is fun game... just not on the Genesis.

Which reminds me. I have an unopened copy of VF5 for the 360. I should probably play that.

Wow of all the Genesis games you listed, I've played the Sonic games and that is it. I know I've played other stuff on there but all I remember is some NHL game and some football game that I'm not sure was actually NFL. I've played Lost Vikings on DOS but never the Genesis.

Me. Game Boy and Game Boy Color are underrated. Most people only remember them for stuff like the Mario games, Pokemon, and (of course) Tetris, but Dragon Warrior III (one of my favorite games of all time), Final Fantasy Legend, Alien 3, Metal Gear Solid, Street Fighter Alpha (no, I'm not kidding), Killer Instinct (I'm still not kidding), Azure Dreams, Heroes of Might and Magic, Armorines, Dr. Franken, and Prince of Persia were all awesome on GB/GBC.

dude I fucking love Prince of Persia, can't get enough of it. I could never find the entrance to the first building with MGS, I prefer shaq fu for the GB over street fighter alpha Wink I really liked Shantae... oh! and Dancing Furby (only released in Japan, but still fucking epic) Also, you totally forgot the Zelda Oracles games.

It's like that on purpose. It's supposed to be that he's swinging the sword so fast that all you see is the afterimages. They do it in Strider 2 as well:

I know, no need to taunt my dail up connection with youtube Wink
I have also played Strider 2 Cool aren't I just A peach.

EDIT MOTHER FUCKERS!

okay, I concede. The Flyin' Jew made me add this.

I have been enlightened by The Flyin' Jew!

Strider is pretty damn fun, It's amazing how your perception of games can change from age 6. I just played it for the first time in years, it also helps if you play it to Daft Punk's "Rollin and Scratchin"

And it helps that I am old enough to actually understand communism wasn't about evil robots Laughing which is what I totally thought when I was younger thanks to strider.

Uhh, are you thinking of the SNES? The original Mortal Kombat had blood, on Sega (ABACABB), and post-MKI Mortal Kombats were fine on the SNES. While the original Mortal Kombat looks much prettier on Super Nintendo, the Genesis version plays a lot nicer, though. And yeah, blood.

It was called Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles in several European countries, because "Ninja" is too violent, apparently. They also took out the parts in the intro where Mikey has his nunchucks out. I actually found that out because Ghandi and I were talking about the new series, once, and he said that that was the show he grew up with, linking the intro to TMHT. Then he added "-Hero."

Oh my God Gain Ground! :D My sister and I used to play that game all the time. I still remember the first time we beat it. That game was so fantastic for two player.

Hopefully there will be something up in time for Christmas. I was scanning all day yesterday, and still have more scanning to do. I have work all day today though, and an MTG draft to attend, so I won't be able to resume work on it till later tonight. Oh, and I have to wrap Christmas presents too.

No. It was complete BS. It was just Sega's way of explaining a bug where Sonic ran faster than the screen could follow him.
