Mark Ryan, the man who is the voice of Bumblebee in Transformers, has revealed some interesting news about bonus material which may well appear on the DVD when it's released later this year. Seems Ryan has been in the studio, voicing new material for a prequel which should bridge the first and second films.

This should give you a small hint of where Michael Bay is planning on taking the franchise in the second iteration. Bay maintains that he will shoot a 'smaller' film before taking on a Transformers sequel, but all parties involved fully expect that he will be the man behind the wheel when Transformers 2 begins shooting.

well... as my first post... i must say i enjoyed the movie... only because it plucked at my nostalgic strings... although time has messed up my memory... i do remember the same transforming sounds and the same voice of optimus prime... i do hate that bumblebee was not a bug... it has always bothered me... ALWAYS... dumb action movie like live free or die hard... but i enjoyed transformers... although... if i had no idea what the transformers were... i would not care for the movie... simple as that... just my two cents...

I saw it, and it did not suck. In fact, I really enjoyed it. I was surprised.

Oh yeah, another thing that pissed me off about the movie was that whole Mars Rover thing that they used as the teaser trailer.

First off, it was terrible teaser trailer, because you just see a random flash of something that *might* be a robot.

Secondly, the use of the footage in the movie was pointless. Its placement in the movie reminds me a lot of the video tape you get off Kenneth Sullivan in GCN version of Resident Evil 1. Towards the end of the game, you find a A/V room where you can use the video tape and what do you see? 10 seconds of Kenny getting mauled by a zombie. THANKS A LOT CAPCOM, I NEVER WOULD HAVE GUESSED THAT'S HOW HE FUCKING DIED. You know, especially since you find the zombie eating him.

Similarly, by the time they show you the rover footage in Transformers, you don't fucking care.

That's Bumblebee that runs up to the rover too. Which makes you wonder why Bumblebee would smash a rover...

Devastator was a tank? A FUCKING TANK!? And he appeared side by side with Bonecrusher!?

Actually, his name was SUPPOSED to be Brawl, since that was what the toy version was named.

I don't know what the hell they were smoking when they changed his name at the last minute, but it was most certainly a retarded idea.

Oh, and Megatron sounded absolutely nothing like Hugo Weaving. Though his voice WAS pretty cool (as was the rest of the movie, IMO), I still think they should've used Frank Welker instead.

Welker could've pulled it off. They used Weaving so there would be a big-name actor voicing him, or at least that's what I think. But yeah, he still sounded good so I'm not complaining.

But what the fuck, was that really Bumblebee who destroyed the rover?

Yeah, when that came out as the teaser trailer like a year ago, people went frame by frame comparing the silhouette with the character renders that got leaked. It's Bumblebee.
