That's pretty lame that the classic and gamecube controllers don't share the same compatibility. Didn't they essentially make the classic as a replacement for gamecube controller? As far as I can tell, it's just a different configuration of all the same buttons.

Actually, didn't Nintendo originally make the classic controller for the Virtual Console games so we didn't have to be forced to play Super Mario World or Sonic the Hedgehog with the Gamecube controller?
I actually tried Super Mario World with the Gamecube controller once, and I found out that the Gamecube controller sucks for SNES games. I'm sure it isn't much better for Sega Genesis/Megadrive games, either.

I actually don't mind using the gamecube control for NES games. It works better than the wiimote on its side imo.
Also they let you use the classic controller for Mario Kart and Brawl so it clearly wasn't just intended for VC games. The fact that they discontinued the gamecube controllers makes me view the classic as its intended replacement. Anyway, I guess it's more SNK's fault for not supporting it in Anthology though...

Well, I guess I just have a different view of everything, then.
You see, I like the Gamecube Controller and Classic Controller for different situations. For example, I like using the Gamecube controller for the Gamecube titles (like anything else could be used for them on the Wii, anyway) and I prefer the Classic Controller for most of the Virtual Console titles, especially for the SNES and Genesis/Megadrive titles (Although, I just use the Wiimote tilted on its side for NES and Master System games). However, I could use either one for Super Smash Bros. Brawl, because they are essentially the same thing in that game.

Even though they put them out on the "Anniversary collection," I kinda want Nintendo to re-release the Mega Man X games on the VC, those were annoying to play with Game Cube controllers. With the classic Series it was actually an improvement. Because only 2 buttons did anything, you had other buttons to spare like the L and R button to switch between weapons and the new rapid fire button with Y.

While Kirby's Dream Land 3 was a fun game, I'd rather have seen Kirby Super Star hit the VC. ...Though with Kirby Super Star Ultra being a fairly recent release still, I don't think we'll see that any time soon.

As would I, and having the DS version, the only real differences are different graphics and a more difficult(not!) version of Spring Breeze.

I'd buy Metal Slug Anthology instead, you'd be getting ripped off if you bought one of the MS's off there for 900 points.

Bubble Bobble Remake Heads To WiiWare
Taito game designer Fukio "MTJ" Mitsuji was a legend. You may not know him by name, but you probably know his works: Bubble Bobble, Rainbow Islands, Volfied, Syvalion, Halley's Comet. In recent years, Mitsuji had taken a step back from game development, running an exclusive game design school. Six weeks after an untimely death at 48, his best-known work has been announced for WiiWare in Japan.
Bubble Bobble Wii will contain all 100 stages from the arcade original, as well as several features exclusive to this version: Simultaneous four-player action, 100 all-new "arranged" stages built with 45° angles (a series first, believe it or not) and a further 200 advanced difficulty maps.
If 400 stages of raw bubble love for a mere 800 Wii Points doesn't satisfy, two 50-stage "expert" packs will be available for an additional 200 Wii Points each. All 500 stages will be reflected on a worldwide internet ranking.
Bubble Bobble Wii has no release date as of yet, nor is there any word on a Western version.

Nintendo really dropped the ball on the VC, back during it's first year run they always put up three games. Sure, not all of them might've been good, but we were at least garanteed to get something decent. Nowadays they only give us one or if we're lucky two games, and half the time it's something that sucks or barely many people care about.

I think Nintendo ran out of good games they are allowed to release.

Nintendo needs to track down the Japanese prototype of Monster Party and release that.
As for Bubble Bobble Wii, I don't hold very high hopes. Squeenix has HEAVILY mismanaged the Taito properties since acquiring the company. They've released two Bubble Bobbles, a New Zealand Story, and a Rainbow Islands game for the DS, and they've all been damn near unplayable. One of the Bubble Bobble games was unbeatable due to a gamebreaking glitch.
