Maybe this is just me, but my background is nearly invisible in purple posts. Is this intentional?

Also, my background doesn't appear right with the browser I am using right now (MobileSafari for iOS). I'll check again on my laptop under Firefox later.

Actually, there wasn't any incorrect displaying of the image, but can the rest of the sky be added in, like this:

It shows up on my android phone. Perhaps your signature needs to be altered to see it better.
If you want I can raise it to the post level above the signature.

I am not adding the water background back into the mario landscape. I specifically removed it because it offers little visual change and will increase page load time. Additionally that is a repeating image and I had to lay the tile work to make it so that it can be a horizontal pattern. The water would make that exponentially more difficult and time consuming.

How does it look tiled across the post? I quite like it justified right like that, but tiled to fill the whole post might look great too; or maybe it'd just be totally obnoxious. What do you think?

I can still only barely see it. I tested a light gray (8% opacity or so) on the purple here and it looked fine. Could you do that?

i can see it in chrome at home. it doesnt stand out like it does on the black background, but it is visible

I can still only barely see it. I tested a light gray (8% opacity or so) on the purple here and it looked fine. Could you do that?

Before I make another change I want you to verify that your monitor isn't just fucking with your eyes. I see it this time very clearly. It is subtle, but clear. If you don't have some odd gama issue, I'll see what I can do.

Turns out it's just my laptop's crappy monitor. It looks fine on my main compo.

Obviously, just the pictures, it doesn't need to retain the black background. Also, I have the originals, if you think it would work better.
