So I saw The Spirit yesterday with a friend, and during the trailers, this caught my eyes. Apparently it is being produced by Michael Bay and directed by Marcus Nispel, who directed "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" remake. Also, it is written by the guys who wrote "Freddy vs Jason".

They just called it Friday the 13th? GAY.
Wonder if they're finally gonna explain how a small retarded child who drowned in a lake grew into a full grown man.

No. They are. I can dig some of the 80's ficks, mainly because of you know the whole nostalgia thing, but generally speaking slasher flicks are lame and anti-climactic.

Robert Englund better be in it, you can't do Freddy with anybody else.

I love in Jason Goes to Hell when he is smashing those two girls in the sleeping bags against the tree. I never laughed so hard.
I always enjoy older slasher flicks for some reason, even though I never get anything from the story or gore. I guess I just like seeing what kind of monster someone can come up with. Newer movies or remakes usually do absolutely nothing for me. I don't really see how you can remake a slasher flick, what are you going to add to it? More blood? Better effects? It doesn't matter, it's going to suck.

Billy Bob Thorton is supposed to be playing Freddy in it.

Yeah, I think you're right. That might explain why I couldn't find the clip. Jason Goes to Hell is the one where the scientist digs in to the heart with all the nasty blackish blood. Ugh.
Jason goes to hell was WEAK, that cops walks around possessed by JAson's spirit and strangles people, GAY.

If Billy Bob Thornton plays Freddy Krueger in all seriousness, I think I might chop off my knees with a glove made of rusty butter knives.

I could see myself liking this new film, but I'm upset as piss that Danielle Panabaker dies in it.

I think horror movies are on their way out myself... I'm personally off 'em for good. In these flicks, they're throwing the same old shitty tricks, tropes, and cliches at us over and over again ("whoops, I just popped out of fucking nowhere and killed you.. again!" "ooh, little japanese girl! I just shit my pants!"), and have basically been for the last, uh.... forever. It's just not scary. I think the last movie to genuinely scare me was Bones, which came out back when I was 11 or 12.
On the subject of this movie, no thanks. when remakes are made, they have to find *some* way to fuck with it.

Yeah... Horror movies will never stop being made. Ever.

I don't know, maybe I'm the only one, but I always loved Freddy Krueger. He was always so pithy with his comments and he always brought an I don't know, "lightness", to his killing sprees. The series did admittedly go down the toilet, but the original Nightmare on Elm Street was the Shiznat:)
