If you had to start your CD collection from scratch, what would be the first ten manditory must-have albums that you would buy?

Well, part of the reason, actually the main reason I asked this is because several years ago, I actually had most of my CD's stolen out of my car. I had two of the big binders full and one medium sized ones full. I actually had more CDs in my car than I had room for as I started doubling some of them up. So I had about...well, it was probably close to the number of your collection give or take a little bit, all stolen.
Since then, I've always had a CD burner, so I have been hesitant to buy new CDs. Its always just been too easy to get songs from places like itunes,...or...other ways. So I actually want to buy CDs. But since my DVD/CD burner quit working, now I have an excuse to buy some. I want so many things, I don't know where to start. So I started this thread as sort of get an idea of what you guys would get.
I still have some CDs that weren't in my car like Dookie, Paranoid, Full Moon Fever, and some other stuff. But for the most part, I'm starting from scratch.

Thou, because I am wroth, be not dismayed, for I shall win the strife, whoever circle round within for the defence. This their insolence is not new, for of old they used it at a less secret gate, which still is found without a bolt. Above it thou didst see the dead inscription; and already on this side of it
descends the steep, passing without escort through the circles,
One such that by him the city shall be opened to us. |

Okay. I think I've got it figured out. I'm going to cheat and exclude the ones I already have because first of all, I made this thread to help decide what ten CDs I'm actually going to buy (maybe I won't buy all ten at once, or maybe I will), and secondly, because its my thread and I can. So to quote Syd, "I know I'm cheating, fuck you."
In no order
Guns N' Roses - Appetite for Destruction
Skid Row - Skid Row
Motley Crue - Dr. Feelgood
Foo Fighters - The color and the Shape
Jane's Addiction - Nothing's Shocking
Silverchair - Frogstomp
Pearl Jam - Ten
Stone Temple Pilots - Core
Smashing Pumkins - Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness
Fuck...no that's not a band or an album. Its my reaction to only having one spot left.
Van Halen.....hmmm.... aw fuck it... - 5150
I can't do this. I take Smashing Pumpkins off the list and add
Van Halen - 1984
At any rate, my actual first purchases will probably actually be GNR - Chinese Democracy, Motley Crue - Saints of Los Angeles, and Sebastian Bach - Angel Down.
Also, since I'm an indecisive prick, I'm going to list some more I NEED soon.
The Who - Who's Next
Aerosmith - Toys in the Attic
The Eagles - Hotel California (I should probably double check that I don't still have this one)
AC/DC - Highway to Hell (I think I still have Back in Black or I'll need this too)
Bad Company - Straight Shooter
The Allman Brothers - Brothers and Sisters
Alice Cooper - Billion Dollar Babies
The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Are You Experienced
Pink Floyd - The Wall
Ramones - Ramones
ZZ Top - Eliminator
Okay so that's not ten. I listed 25 (24 in the event that I still have Hotel California). But shit, you guys are doing it for the hell of it. I'm making a real shopping list. What do you expect?

Most of my music's on cassette. I don't own about half these albums on CD but oh well, fuck CDs.
Screaming Trees-Sweet Oblivion
Blind Melon-Blind Melon
Guns N' Roses-Appetite For Destruction
Alice in Chains-Alice in Chains
Van Halen-Van Halen
Wolf Parade-At Mount Zoomer
Pantera-Vulgar Display of Power
Tragically Hip-Fully Completely (or Road Apples, probably Fully Completely though, that's actually a really hard choice)
Derek and the Dominos-Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs
Led Zeppelin-Led Zeppelin
Wow, just under half of my list is self titled albums. The Doors' self titled just missed it too, weird.

Now that everyone's editing their lists, it's getting hard not replace the "Last Wave Rockers" with The Adicts' "Sound of Music"

Who, Douche? I agree. If he is joking, Green Day should be removed. During the even it is a real serious list...no comment.

I agree Grren Day should be removed, there are so many better albums. Like Will Smith - Big Willie Style. I'll edit it.
