I need some help here. I'm thinking in buying a new game system and I don't know which one, PS3 or XBOX 360. What do you guys recommend? Wii is not a fucking option.

Wii IS a fucking option.
But, if you have to choose between the two, get a 360. It's got a better selection, overall, in my opinion.

Also depends on your gaming style. Personally if you are an RPG gamer - PS3 is probably your better option especially in the long term.

Watch what you say about the Wii around here......Nintendo has a very strong following (not that there's anything wrong with that). Though I agree.....it doesn't really appeal to me either.
I have an X360. The only PS3 exclusive that interests me is MGS4, but if history is any indication, Microsoft will eventually get it.
Gears of War is fucking fantastic, and I was never even a fan of shooters. I'm pumped for GOW2 in November.

360 has a better library, as well as quite a few well anticipated games coming this year(Fable II, Gears 2, "Banjo-Threeie", etc). So I'd say that.

and the 360 is cheaper.
only bad thing is, you have to pay for xbox live/ its only $5 a month but its worth it. and the online play is better streamlined on the 360 vs the ps3. the ps3 has free online play.
and it all depends on what games you like to play as well.

If you really, really don't want a Wii, the 360's the way to go.
And, no, the 360's the RPG machine. Plus it gets a lot of obscure stuff in addition to your Gears of Wars and your Halos and your excusives and whatever the fuck else.

First off, I love my wii.
I want a PS3 for a few of the games, however I really want one because I know I am gonna really want a Blu-Ray player within the next two years or so.

I still plan on getting a PS3 just because the control pad is easier to use. =P

Do you really want to wear out your $400 - $600 gaming machine watching movies on it?
In next yeaer, Blue-Ray players will start to drop towards the $100 mark, if not cheaper. Just wait till then. Also, maybe the movies will be a little better priced as well. ($30 each? No wonder when it comes to the question of buying it on Blue-Ray or DVD, I always just download it.)

I hope you mean legally and from an approved studio store.

I would go with the PS3. I've had both, but I sold my 360 first. Once companies start to figure out how to work comfortably with the hardware, there will be less and less exclusives as times go by (see Bio Shock, Ninja Gaiden and possibly GOW). So it all depends on which first party games you'd like.

The 360 has more games and better games. It's online service is excellent for the most part. It's only real flaw is the console itself, which has a short life expectancy and will have to be replaced eventually. I'm on my third console in as many years. It's got a 3-year warranty, which is nice but it's still a hassle.
The PS3 is just the opposite in my experience. It's a reliable piece of hardware. Unfortunately, it's online services leave a lot to be desired, though they are free. It's only got 3-4 solid exclusive games.
Aside from a few Nintendo published games, the Wii is borderline useless.

The PS3's price point has always annoyed me. I mean, sure, they're actually losing money by pricing it so "low", but if it's really that big of a deal, I say just put cheaper parts in it. I'm not asking for a NASA supercomputer, I'm asking for a video game console.

microsoft has said they are planning on the 360 to have a short lifespan whereas sony has said they expect the ps3 to last at least 10 years. either way we all get screwed out of money

3-4? I beg to differ:
MotorStorm, Ratchet and Clank, Warhawk, MGS4, Uncharted, Wipeout HD, Resistance, MLB 08: the Show beg to differ.

Of the games you listed I regularly play: MGS4, Uncharted, and MLB 08. That's makes 3 for me, and I think that's how many it will be for most people.
I own Resistance and Warhawk and neither of them impressed me very much. The others I'm simply not interested in. And I really don't think any one person is going to be interested in more than a few of those games.

How does one not love the Wii? I mean, yes if you are only looking for a graphical experience, and you are not looking toward game play, then yes you may not like the Wii. I think though to call it useless or even borderline useless misses the point entirely. Great games are coming out for it more and more, it has a great price point, not the cheapest anymore, but not bad at all. Plus, I love motion controls. I mean some people may hate things like, why do I have to use a "motion", or why can't I have a regular controller and not have to move the Wiimote. Well you can, either a classic controller or a Gamecube controller, and for the games you can't, frankly they are games that deserve motion.
There are games that I would like to have that are not no the Wii. If I had to choose I think I would pick the 360. This is because it is backward compatable and I could play old Xbox games on it, along with the new games. Unless you find an old 80 gig, you can't play old PS2 games on the PS3. I have a buddy with a 60 gig PS3 and even though the site says you can play PS2 games on the 60 gig, he has not been able to get any to play, even the ones on the list found on Sony's website.
I think all 3 systems have their merits, but for the price, and no backward compatability, I see XBOX 360 in this situation.

It would be easy for me to say 360. But its probably because I don't have a PS3. I think PS2 was one of the best systems ever, and wasn't a huge fan of the Xbox. I maybe the PS3 is better than I realize because I just haven't played it enough.
What I would do is play as much as I could of both (friend's house, demos at the store, etc.) then research the games.
I'd guess that no matter which one you get, you will be able to enjoy it. Its not like either one sucks.

I dunno, I think the new generation of consoles is kind of weak, except for the Wii. I say that because they are basically making these "video game consoles" into a multimedia set top box, something I heard was going to happen anyways, so I'm not surprised. However, I would rather build my own PC for a multimedia center than buy a video game console. If I buy a video game console, I want to play games on it, and maybe rip some music. I don't need fancy schmancy bullshit that I'm not going to know how to use, or ever use at all.
Nintendo is on the right track: You can't watch movies on a Wii (Pretty sure, correct me if I'm wrong, I don't own one so I don't actually know) plus it's got a gimmick to work off of. It is a dedicated video game system. I don't want a movie playing, Internet surfing, multimedia thing when I already own a PC. I just want something to play games on that costs less than 300 dollars. The PS3 is way too expensive and the 360 and Wii, well I don't have money anyway. I'm just not impressed with this new generation of consoles. The Wii, sure it's great, but it disappoints me that a lot of games don't make it to the Wii, forcing gamers to get a 360 or PS3. Whatever happened to the days where you could buy a game on all platforms? Even better, all platforms and same release date. I think I've babbled enough, post on.

Well, I think there are plenty of good games. But if you don't care/aren't impressed, there are tons of great games on last-gen systems. Hell, if I really devoted myself to playing all of the great games on PS2, by the time I was done, the PS5 would probably be out by then. Hell, I probably play my PS2 more than I do my 360 or Wii.
