There have been about 5-6 games for the Wii that have been truly worth purchasing. Smash Brothers came out in March.
Since then nothing good has been released.
Now it doesn't even look like anything is on the horizon. When a Mario baseball game and Wario side scroller are the best that a console can do mid 2008... well fuck that.
Millions of people own this console, so why isn't anyone trying to take our money with decent releases?
In a few days Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is supposed to come out. I have been waiting for this game since the Wii was invented, but the closer we get to the date, the more I feel like I will be let down. The paper magazine ratings have been low, but none of the big online reviewers have made their comments yet.
Still, I would have expected something better. This has been a very weak year in games, but an even weaker year in Wii games.
Boo.

I know what you mean. Besides Blast Works, I can't think of anything that I want to buy for the Wii.

When you're earning your own game money, you can't afford to buy shit for the hell of it*.
*Unless it's classic shit like Bayou Billy, Rambo, or Rise of the Robots. I own the first two, and plan to buy the third.

Bayou Billy is the shit in hard ass games. I say only one game has to be harder on the NES and thats Smash TV remove the powerups rate of respawning to like 1 a minute.

Oddly enough, Mad City's difficulty was just fine. I have no idea why Konami ratcheted up the difficulty when making the American release.

Is it your goal to ruin my thread?
This is terrible advice.

It's not bad advice. If you buy every game and play and beat them, you can be considered MASTER OF THE WII.

Why don't you go buy every different type of bait, so you can be considered a MASTER BAITER.

Ok. That's two different threads where M3GA MAN was being retarded. *claps for M3GA*
I'm sure you win some sort of an award.
Let's see... Last Wii Game I bought was Rock Band (for my dad). Before that, it was Brawl... Before that.... just some GC games.
I admit. I only got the Wii for Brawl.
Honestly.

For people like me who owned and loved Doubledash, Mario Kart Wii was pathetic. There is no way to beat the computer with skill due to a large number of AI driven power attacks. Blue Shell... Blue Shell... Blue Shell... Oh were you winning by a lap? Fuck YOU!!! BLUE SHELL BLUE SHELL BLUE SHELL BLUE SHELL BLUE SHELL!
Also where is the VS gameplay with just the live people? Online mode has it, but the regular game doesn't?
Oh... and WTF is up with the shitty refresh rate on 3 & 4 player mode?
I am getting mad just thinking about that fucking shitty game.

I'm fucking sick of people saying the Wii has no games:
Brawl
Zelda
Galaxy
Corruption
Zack & Wiki
Okami
No More Heroes
Mario Strikers
Blast Works
Guitar Hero 3
Rock Band
NiGHTS: Journey Into Dreams
Sonic and the Secret Rings
Ghost Squad
House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return
Metal Slug Anthology
Super Paper Mario
Guilty Gear XX Accent Core
That's just off the top of my head. The trick is doing your damn research. If you blindly walk into a Best Buy or Target, you are going to see DOZENS of crappy shovelware games.

I do have a suggestion but I know you all would all go "lol sports game" and think nothing of it, so I shouldn't even waste my breath.
Oh yeah, Disaster: Day of Crisis.

The game was great. The story was awful. But if you're playing a Sonic game for storyline, you're always going to be disappointed.

Brawl - own it - cleared 95%
Zelda - beat it
Galaxy - beat it
Corruption - beat it
Zack & Wiki - Heard it was must meh
Okami - Saw demo, didn't like it - also it is a port of an old game
No More Heroes - Was one of a few that I have considered
Mario Strikers - not into soccer
Blast Works - never heard of it
Guitar Hero 3 - I enjoy playing it, at other peoples homes.
Rock Band - same as above
NiGHTS: Journey Into Dreams - never heard of it
Sonic and the Secret Rings - I heard it was boring
Ghost Squad - Never heard of it
House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return - rather be punched in the junk than have to play these
Metal Slug Anthology - never heard of it
Super Paper Mario - GAY GAY GAY
Guilty Gear XX Accent Core - Never heard of it

I owe the titles in red more research. I'll see what I can find out about them and get back to you. I still say that the selection is weak for a system closing in on its second birthday.

Maybe I just couldn't get used to the awkward controls. Just not my cup of tea. I remember getting this as a blind-buy and I was heavily disappointed. There were mixed reviews, a lot of people loved it, but there were those who couldn't stand it as well.

Yeah, Secret Rings is definitely a very polarizing game. I liked that it action-oriented, something that Sonic's other 3D adventures have lacked.
As for Strikers, GP, I don't like soccer nor did I like the GCN Strikers. But Strikers Charged is damn fun.
