From http://ds.ign.com/articles/882/882023p1.html

Quote:
June 16, 2008 - These days Mega Man is more interested in card-battling than the side-scrolling platforming we grew up with. Hence our excitement when we noticed publisher/developer Capcom had submitted Mega Man 9 for rating with Australia's Classification Board and Classification Review Board. The organization acts like the Entertainment Software Ratings Board in the U.S. When a game shows up on one of these ratings lists, it's a pretty good indication it's on the way.

The game was filed for multiple platforms. Unfortunately no other details are given. The last game in the original Mega Man canon was part eight, released on the PlayStation and SEGA Saturn back in 1997.

Either:
1. I died and went to heaven.
2. This is all a dream and I'm gonna wake up in the morning.
3. It's true, and our peeps at Capcom let the cat out the bag WAY too early.

Either way, I'm having a hard ass time believing this.

There already is a Mega Man 9. It's called Mega Man & Bass.

Great. Now Syd needs to do a follow-up robot masters article. It would be out of his era of focus, but it would be fucking awesome.

About fucking time! I've always considered MM&B part 9 so that'd be cool if they called this one 10. I can't stand the haters for complaining about too many Mega Man games. I've beaten all the original, X, Zero, and ZX games (just thought I'd toot my own horn here). People complain that it's always the same thing but I say if you want something new, play a different fucking game! I also hope this one leads into the X series and explains about what happened to everyone. But then again it's Capcom, they love to keep adding to a story without ever finishing it up. I'll play as many Mega Man games as they wanna make, even the ZX series which was a shitty direction to take the games if you ask me. I refuse to play BN, SF, and Legends though.

Shake it, Quake it, Space Kaboom.

Has MM&B been released in Australia?

They could be releasing it as Mega Man 9 there.

My thoughts exactly. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

According to GameFAQs, the GBA port of Mega Man & Bass was only released in Japan, Europe, and North America. The original SNES version and the Wonder Swan port were only released in Japan.

Why would they release MM+B 6 years from time it was released in Australia? The GBA is dead. Plus: read "multiple platforms".

Yeah, I'm a huge fan of the BN and Star Force games, and I don't know why they get shitted on because *surprise* they're not action games!

So if this is true, and a megaman 9 really is being made, it would make sense for the game to bridge the gap between the originals and X series. If it does bridge the two, then we can finally call megaman X: megaman 10. But there out of robot master ideas, I mean come on, Aqua man, Search man, Clown Man!

I've been hearing rumors flying all over the place about this the past few days. I want this game just as badly as any of you, if not more, but I'm not believing anything until Capcom says something official.

Personally, I don't care how lame a Robot Master may or may not be. I always welcome them with open arms...right before I blow them to bits and take their weapons for myself.

If this game "bridges the gap" you might face Zero as the last boss.

I'm so bananas I'm showing up to your open casket,
to fill it up with explosive gases,
and close it back,
with a lit match in it,
while I sit back, and just hope it catches.

Blow you to fragments,
laugh,
roll you, and smoke the ashes.

They've had over ten years to try to think of more. When I was younger, my brother and I drew a whole bunch of our own and we had some decent ideas. As lame as it may sound, I kinda want to do that again.

I did that too after playing MM2. Among my inventions were Magnetman and Snakeman.

All I want in a MegaMan game... is a DragonMan.

...and, I dunno, a slightly less high-pitched voice for MegaMan maybe. I know he's supposed to be a kid, but still.

That would be the most pathetic cop out ever. more pathetic than Christopher Reeve's legs.

Actually it won't happen anyway, cos Wily already told Bass he was building Zero at the end of Power Battle 2.

There are a lot of what if's in life Donny. What if I hit you really hard in the face, knocked yo shit to the back of yo skull? What if I....had you girl gargle my nuts? The fact remains, you are a fuckin mutant.

This will probably turn out to be true.
