I wasn't really a big Heath Ledger fan. I liked him in "A Knight's Tale" and "The Patriot", but I didn't really give him credit as an actor. Then he started taking more chances in his acting. "Brothers Grimm" is actually a good example of appearing on screen in a way he never had before. I figured he could go the whole Brad Pitt route in reverse. And I was surprised to hear he got casted as Joker. I thought it was stunt casting at first. Then I started seeing his performance and immediately liked what he was doing. But still, I wasn't about to go see any Heath Ledger movie just because he was in it; the concept still had to appeal to me and/or be directed by Terry Gilliam.
Then I heard he died. I was shocked. It wasn't like I loved Heath Ledger, but I really felt for his death. Then I found out about his personal life and his family -- Just makes a guy feel worse. 
That's why I don't find this thread funny. But as I said in the "gay picket" thread...
Plus, there's a whole Brandon Lee vibe I feel about this...

Heath was cool like Brandon Lee. Brandon Lee despite making a ton of crappy movies before the Crow is still considered a God.

As opposed to all the churches and what not that are actually protesting his funeral because of his role in "Brokeback Mountain."

I love the stories about Jack Nicholson warning him. Although, I don't believe for one second Jack let the darkness of Joker wash over him. It's also not like Mark Hamill went nuts either. Should I even mention Cesar Romero for completeness sake?

Jack Nicholson didn't actually play The Joker. He played Tim Burton presents Jack Nicholson in Funny Clownz Makeup™.
But I'm pretty sure that Mark Hamill is nuts.
