Need some names for my collection I'm building up and curious to something different
Please DO NOT point out the obvious like Crash or Spyro I already own and love every one of them
But for mine I would say MediEvil, not sure if that a obscure game but its gain following and just the pure thrill of killing zombies with swords and shit. Working on MediEvil 2 currently.
Also I'm new here but I've been browsing for a couple of weeks now so I decided to register; So hello Sydlexia!

Suikoden, hard copy price has come down a ton now that you can buy it on PSN digitally. Pretty fun little RPG. Also Harvest Moon: Back to Nature was on PS1 I think, that is one of the best early ones from that series. The early Medal of Honor games weren't bad either, a little weird if I recall from 14+ years ago but fun.

I recall the Medal of Honor games, or at least the first to be pretty decent especially the multiplayer. I remember I though they where zombies instead of Nazis.
Though that Suikoden sounds familiar anything else you can recommend?

Namco Museum 3 is a good collection of Namco arcade games. I thought Frogger 3D was unfairly hated. Oh, and Thrasher: Skate Or Destroy was awesome, at least as good as THPS 1.

If you like survival horror, I'd definitely check out Martian Gothic. It cost me three bucks when I got it back in the day (it originally came out for only ten), and it's a really underrated and unique game. The controls blow (as do most survival horror games with tank controls), but the partner-switching mechanic and the plot make it worth it.
I also recommend:
-The Parasite Eve games (the first game is a sorta-turn-based RPG, the second is a survival horror RPG)
-Clock Tower (point-and-click adventure game that involves a lot of chase sequences)
-One Piece Mansion (sim game in which you manage tenants in an apartment building, a lot more fun than it sounds)

The Jumping Flash games were fun back in the day. However, I am not sure how well they have aged.

I remember playing Medival. It was an ok experience.
The PSone has many good games. Suikoden 1 and 2. Legend of Mana is great. Brave Fencer Musashi is one of my favorite games of all time. It's very well made, with voice overs, day and night cycle, anime-esque style, sidequest, loveable characters and a very humorous note. I recommend it.

Twisted Metal 2 was fun as hell back in the day.
Resident Evil 2 and 3 were pretty fun, though the controls were kind of wonky, only played RE1 for a little bit so I don't really have an opinion on it.
Also Rogue Trip was one of my favorite games on the system, Twisted Metal ripoff with a much better soundtrack that included The Mighty Mighty Bosstones.
I also liked Syphon Filter 1 and 2. They were pretty enjoyable, stealth-action games.
I assume you already have the obvious Final Fantasy games, 7-9 were all pretty good even if 7 is pretty overrated.
MGS1 is another obvious one, but I'll mention it anyway.

Good luck finding a copy of Suikoden II under 100 bucks. Good game, way overpriced. If they ever release it for PSN, it will drop like 1 did so keep an eye on that.

Welcome!
I'm very fond of Medievil. It was the first game I bought for my ps1 (well joint with Tekken 2). Good to see Sir Fortesque as your profile pic
The Tombi (or Tomba! games as they are known elsewhere to here) are pretty good. They are also pretty rare, copies generally go for quite a high price. Luckily you can get them on psn now, so I took that opportunity.

Since everyone's covering the other genres, I'm going to throw some racing game recommendations out there. You wouldn't think racing games on PS1 would hold up well but these ones are still very much playable:
Destruction Derby 2
Demolition Racer
Rally Cross
Road Rash 3D
|
Shake it, Quake it, Space Kaboom. |

Beware, though. Literally every game on this list would cost you a pretty penny.

We're not all misers, CamWin. Some of us know old rare games will cost a good bit and are okay with it.

Welcome to the forums. I have a tittle:
Threats of Fate.
It's kind of a hidden jewel to me, I dont know many people who played it. Action/adventure/RPG. Loved it!
