I was thinking about a conversation I had with Thunderhorse a few months back (I think it was Thunderhorse, it was either him or Preng) about favorite fighting game characters. I looked a few pages back to make sure there wasn't already a thread about this and couldn't find one, so here goes. I'm genuinely curious to see who everyone's favorite characters are in fighting games, so list your favorite characters from every fighting game you enjoy so we can all judge and make fun of each other for liking T. Hawk and Cable. Surprised

Street Fighter III: Elena and Twelve

Street Fighter Alpha 3: Karin and Cody

Arcana Heart: The ninja dog girl

Really though, Third Strike is the only fighting game I play. Whenever I play anything else, it just makes me wish I was playing Third Strike instead.

Mortal Kombat: Raiden. I like lightning hands in any game.

Street Fighter: Vega or Zangief. Zangief because he was kind of an underdog character before SF4, and Vega could be infuriating to people if you used him right.

Soul Calibur- Seung Mina and Mitsurugi. I like fighters with good fake-out moves, and you could really mess with people using those two.

Mortal Kombat: Raiden. This was the first fighting game I ever played in arcades, and the first time I saw him teleport blew my mind.

Mortal Kombat 2: Raiden and Baraka. I used to destroy people at the arcades with Jax, though, because people couldn't figure out how to handle him.

Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3: This depended on the life of the game. When it first came out, I was unstoppable as Kabal and Cyrax because people sucked at the game. Then I moved to Sheeva and Nightwolf (who I had always thought sucked until I learned how to maximize his move set). My best character from that game to this day, though, is definitely unmasked Sub-Zero.

I don't really enjoy fighting games but I did play a lot of the older ones so that's really all I'll cover.

Why Kano, out of curiosity? It seems like nobody I've played with (myself included) can ever beat anyone with him, and his rolling attack move is pretty awful.

Me and a friend played this as a joke the other day, and while it admittedly isn't as bad as people make it out to be, the (lack of) responsiveness of the controls does make it incredibly frustrating. I do agree that Beast is one of the best characters, it seems like he was one of the only people that I could actually do anything with.

One of the reasons why I love Jax is the sheer variety of his moves; not only does he have a lot of them, but it seems like he has one for pretty much any situation. Plus I love the look on peoples' faces when I grab them out of the air and throw them to the ground.

I had meant to put Zangief down for MvC2, not UMvC3. I was pretty tired when making my list.

As far as using Kano, I used to be ridiculously good at the MK games back in the day. In my opinion, he is one of the best characters in the first MK game. Yeah, his cannonball move can be bad if you don't use it properly, leaving you open to huge damage. However, combine it with his other moves and he can be super effective.

My first real enjoyment of the SF came from SFvXM. I am a beam super guy. I know Ken isn't a beam super guy, but he had a team super with Ryu. And his basic moves were better than Ryu.
