Is it a full translation?

#EDIT: Read more carefully, Syd! It is.

I would buy this just to have the official Square English translation. The fan translation was kind of shitty.

I would buy this just to destroy it. Don't feel like dropping 50k on it, though.

Q: i really dont care. your a retart for even trying to sell something like that for that much. also check youtube because so many people know about this insane item you are trying to sell. look for alpha omega sin channel and watch that video about you. Aug-23-12
A: what

You must be rich yes? Aug-22-12
A: Embarrassingly so. I like to play this game where I crumple $100 bills into little balls, light them on fire, and see if I can toss them into a Ming vase. Usually the hole is too small so I have to bang it against one of my solid gold countertops to open it up more.

do you have battletoads? Aug-22-12
A: Yeah, somewhere. Probably

Q: Hello mate! You've just been framed! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qrfDNUEQXB4&feature=g-all-u Aug-22-12
A: I had already seen this, which you wouldn't know since the uploader deleted my comment. This is probably the first time I've been physically threatened over YouTube, I feel like I've reached a new milestone in my life.

Q: gooby pls Aug-21-12
A: That's an extra $5

Q: is the cat above the tv included lol ? Aug-18-12
A: READ THE DESCRIPTION

I'm dying of laughter.

Also:
Q: Can you please upload to ROM online, so the world can play it? There is no way publisher will release this, and if you don't it could be lost to time: Forever. Aug-21-12
A: OK, I did it (9 years ago).

Hmmm.... I'll have to find that ROM. I think the last time I played FF2 on the NES was like 2001, and it was a barely functional fan translation.

I think my friend downloaded that same ROM way back when. The only experience I have with it is the ROM I currently have on my Powerpak, which is translated just fine, courtesy of Neo Demiforce. I did, however, once have that problem with FF3, but that was soon rectified via the SOM2Freak translation, which I also have on my Powerpak. Remember that binge of mine last year that I told you about? You don't really think I'd include such a shoddy translation in a project that big, do you?

I had I believe the beta Neo Demiforce ROM. Large portions of text were still untranslated in it.

Looks like the auction has been taken down.

Sometimes it is very pleasing to destroy unique material items. I was only kidding, though. I have intentionally (for fun) destroyed many $1000 + items in my life, lol.

Ridiculous auction aside, what is everyone's opinion on Final Fantasy II?

I have played it on the Game Boy Advance - so I'm not sure if there are any major differences between it and the NES version. I did like the world and general plot, but the stat-grinding system and weak fourth party members made it a bit frustrating. It isn't a game I would be willing to replay for awhile.

I enjoyed the game myself, having played the Japanese version with a friend who translated for me. There is nothing really special about it, in my opinion. I would rather play it over any of the modern FF games, though.

I was ecstatic when I finally beat it the day after moving into my current house. You don't want to know how many times I took up to six minutes to get a new spell up a level until they were all equal. The fourth party members are only as useless as you allow them to be (not at all, in my case), a prime example being when Gordon struck the fatal blow on the very first Gigas I encountered. My enjoyment may have more to do with my autism than the overall quality of the game itself, but I still enjoyed it.

Worst game in the series. Yes, that includes that one.

I like it. If you play it, you have to play directly after completing I, so you can compare and contrast. Out of the original 7 games, III is far and away my least favorite.

I have some distinct memories in II where I would have teammates attack each other early in the game to force HP growth, so I was rolling around with ~4,000 HP within the early stages of the game. Still, there were monsters at that point which would do obscene amounts of damage. I don't believe I used shields on anyone, so perhaps I'll have to try 'em out in a future playthrough.

I've played III on the DS and I didn't get much out of it. They attempted to give the anonymous heroes some personality and side dialogue, but it didn't make for an enjoyable experience.

The only time my characters attacked each other was when they were confused. I just let them gain HP as they may have.

Syd, why do you have such a low opinion of III?

The story is boring and the job system is done better in V.

This. I got III on DS new when it came out and it's one of the few video game purchases that I seriously regret.

Okay, so the story isn't a strong suit, but it's got good music, decent pacing and memorable boss battles.

It's even worse on the NES. On the NES, it's the story of 4 silent palette swaps who go on a magical adventure to fight a cloud.
