How come no one's brought this game up yet? Out at the end of the month.

Full roster:

Current WWE Superstars:

Edge
Jack Swagger
Kane
Kofi Kingston
Randy Orton
Rey Mysterio
Triple H
Sheamus
Big Show
John Morrison
John Cena
CM Punk
Drew McIntyre
The Miz
Undertaker

WWE Legends:

Andre The Giant
Bret Hart
Eddie Guerrero
Hulk Hogan
Jake Roberts
Randy Savage
Roddy Piper
Sgt. Slaughter
The Rock
Ultimate Warrior
Ricky Steamboat
Jimmy Snuka
Mr. Perfect
Shawn Michaels
Steve Austin

Downloadable Content:

Million Dollar Man
Ted Dibiase Jr.
Dusty Rhodes
Cody Rhodes
Hawk
Animal
Big Bossman
Chris Jericho
Jerry Lawler
Michael Hayes
Mark Henry
R-Truth

Non-Playable Characters:

Jim Ross
Howard Finkel
Paul Bearer

Both Teds are free as a preorder bonus with GameStop, I think. Overall, pretty solid. I don't care about any of the current guys outside Edge, Cena, Undertaker, and Rey, but the classic roster alone is good enough to warrant purchasing this.

This game looks absolutely ridiculous. Everyone on the roster looks twice as roid ridden as they are now and the action is WAY too cartoony. I like the fact that Randy Savage is on there, but at the same time, the idea of Cena AAing a guy, only for Cena to catch him with 20 punches in mid air...I mean yeah...I wish they could've done the game in both ways. This just reminds me of the days of that crappy In Your House game.

The design team was led by the same guy who did WWF Wrestlemania... you know, the one that was like Mortal Kombat, so take that for what it's worth.

And that's EXACTLY why I'm interested in this game. I enjoyed the PSX era Smackdown games a ton more than the current Madden-esque ones. It just looks so over the top and ridiculous and FUN. God, it looks fun, I can't remember enjoying a sports game since Blitz.

I kinda wish they'd makes games in the Attitude Era. we have the current generation and the 80's more than covered in their own full games, but not the 90's.

I'll take it just because there's an arcade stick for it. It must be good if arcade controls were considered so heavily for it.

There's seriously an arcade stick for this?

I must see this.

I have the agree with the notion of the new SD games going off the deep end, but I would like the games to simply go back to the original PS1 SD engine...that was fun and not overly complicated.

Also, why in the fuck is Drew McIntyre playable but fucking R Truth isn't? Drew should be the one who's downloadable. Also switch Slaughter and M$M.

Because I need yet another stick to dual mod. It looks pretty crap and will come with cheap parts that must be replaced as soon as possible (standard on SE sticks), but still.

You know, I bet Mad Catz makes a killing selling the same stick with a different faceplate every time a game comes out.

Why does everyone hate on Madcatz? I've got what I thought was a gamestop usb 360 controller but when I plug it to the computer it identifies as a Madcatz, it's worked fine for the last two 360s I've had. Confused

Yeah, Hori is the big Hong Kong stick maker.

But, if you want the best of the best, then you want an X-Arcade.

http://www.xgaming.com/store/category/arcade-joysticks-and-game-controllers/

These thing are huge, heavy, and damn near bulletproof. (The single player stick is 8 lbs.) They use highest quality arcade components, and offer a Lifetime Warranty on their sticks. (They even pay the shipping both ways.)

If it was possible to replace the parts with Sanwas, I might consider an X-Arcade.

But in terms of solidity, it's got nothing on the Hori VLX.

People hate MadCatz because their peripherals weren't very good until Street Fighter IV came out. I must have went through like a dozen DDR pads made by them back in the day when PS2 DDR games were cool. Once they realized how much money there is to be made in arcade sticks tied in with a popular fighting game series, they decided to stop sucking and make sticks that are easy to mod as a bonus.

I loved Mad Catz Micro Controllers for X-box. The Bear claw was too big, the S was Great, but the Micro was just right.

Well, Madcatz did recently buy out Saitek, who makes pro level flightsticks and other PC controllers, so they may have stole some expertise on making better quality gear.

And, how do you figure the Hori VLX is better than an X-Arcade? Because it costs 3x more and is next to impossible to find in stock?

The VLX uses the VIEWLIX arcade setup, which is the newer standard for arcade machines in Japan. So, no arguing the quality there. It's designed to feel and play like the arcade counterpart.

So's the X-Arcade. The X-Arcade uses commercial grade buttons, switches, and controller boards that rival Happ/Suzo equipment. They are guaranteed for 10,000,000+ uses. And, are covered by a lifetime warranty.

I think it's Coke vs Pepsi here. Pick the one you like better, because there is no clear winner.

i mirror these thoughts as well.

pro wrestling is ridiculous in general, so the game has to be cartoony & over the top in general.

The "Gamestop" brand controllers are all made by MadCatz.

Probably has something to do with the fact that they don't weigh eight pounds. If you're going to tournaments and shit, do you really want to lug that shit around all day?

I just prefer Japanese parts over Happ parts. I'm sure the X-Arcade's parts are equivalent in quality, but I buy the arguments in favor of Japanese buttons and sticks being superior to American/European buttons and sticks. I've become so familiar with the workings of Japanese joysticks that I don't think I can go back. Particularly, the X-Arcade's joystick appears to be riveted on, unlike Japanese joysticks which are screwed into place.

I want No Mercy/Wrestlemania 2000 style wrestling games.

I loved In Your House, so I'll likely pick this up, but it could definitely benefit from more 90's/early 00's wrestlers. I'd add:

Mankind/Dude Love/Cactus Jack
Hacksaw Jim Duggen (HO!)
Golddust
Blue Meanie
Vader
Chris Benoit
Doink
Eugene
William Regal
Hardcore Holly
Al Snow
Mosh & Thrasher
Too Cool
Hurricane
The Goodwins
APA
Owen Hart
The classic, non-roided Steiners
Masked Kane
Old Age Inlaws

Mankind (as well as Ric Flair) aren't in the game because they're signed with TNA. Al Snow is too. Hogan was able to be in it because his contract allows outside merchandising.

Benoit would never be allowed in.

I'm pretty sure classic Kane and classic Undertaker will be alternate costumes for those characters.

A lot of your list is terrible, a lot midcarders and jobbers. Hacksaw and Golddust would both be nice additions though. Doink would be acceptable, because he was pretty big in the 90s. But Eugene, Too Cool, and the Blue Meanie? Were you like 5-10 years old when these guys wrestled? That's the only explanation for why you'd like them.

Yes to Too Cool and Meanie, but I think a wrestling retard is an excellent gimmick imo. I actually never saw Meanie wrestle, but he's in WM2000 and is easily the best character in the game.

As for Too Cool, this easily warrants their inclusion in every wrestling game from now on.

I was actually just naming wrestlers I liked after a while, regardless of talent or memorability. I was thinking of adding Funaki and Taka to the list but even I thought they were too midcard-y.

The Hardys sould be in there too, if they weren't under contract elsewhere. A case can't necessarily be made for the APA as a tag team, but Farooq and JBL individually should be in, so I'd put them in and give them each an APA costume. Also, needs more Christian. Vince doesn't seem to like him as a singles competitor, but Edge and Christian were one of the most dominant tag teams of the Attitude Era.

If they do another game at some point and Flair is available for licensing, they should put in the Four Horseman. Not really WWE Legends, but since WWE owns the WCW Library, might as well throw the WCW fans a bone.
