To have in your home, which would you pick?

It's so hard to pick between:

Ninja Gaiden - (I dunno, those sound effects just appeal to me so much, it's more nostalgia than fantastic game play.)

Simpsons - (Just one of my favorites, hands down the most fun I ever had with friends at an arcade.)

Galaga - (The biggest quarter waster of my life, but I never got tired of it.)

But the winner would have to be:

The Simpsons

I dedicated way too much time to this game with my friends, and I don't regret a single quarter lost. Having it in my home would probably be the coolest thing I could think of. That is all.

Metamorphic Force.
I never had more fun playing a Arcade game.
Transforming into a Were-Panther and beating the shit out of everything was just so much fun. it also was never available for home console wich is another reason.

it was the best of times
it was the blurst of times

Only one? Damn you, Josh! But if I had to pick just one, for the time being, I would say Marvel Vs. Capcom. I only played the first one, but a lot of people say 2 is better.

As I mentioned in the other thread, it would have to be something that just isn't as cool on an emulation or a home system, such a light gun game or a driving game or a 3-6 player cabinet.

As I've mentioned before, the three player Revolution X cabinet is among my top picks.

But I think I'd have to go with Golly! Ghost!

For those too lazy to click the links, Golly! Ghost! is a Namco ticket redemption machine where cartoon ghosts are projected over an actual dollhouse and you shoot at them. It's pretty rare and it's one of the more unique machines out there.

MVC2 sucks. It's only fun if you're a massive combotard, and combos are the only thing you like about fighting games. The great thing about MVC1 was that you COULD be a combotard if you wanted, but you didn't have to be. In MVC1, a well-timed counterhit with a super will do significant damage to an opponent by itself. In MVC2, guys regen faster, super moves do less damage, and super moves leave a lot more red than used to. So a super movie is ONLY effect in MVC2 if it's part of a combo. This, combined with the fact that there are now three characters for you to rotate between and turtle make the game completely inaccessible to casual players. If the timer is on, a casual players' match will almost always go to time.

In the Nineties when Chuck'e'cheese was still open near where I lived, they had Moonwalker... I spent a lot of time playing that game.

The only other game I spent a lot of time playing was Initial D in the mid-2000's

I would love to get an F-Zero AX arcade machine. Beat'em ups, shot'em ups, and adventure games aren't that fun to play on a personal arcade machine because when you have infinite lives, nothing is going to stop you from beating it no matter how bad you are.

Shake it, Quake it, Space Kaboom.

I would have a hard time choosing between Sinistar and 720°. I would probably go with Sinistar, though.

Did anyone ever put enough money in the machine for two people and play with both light guns in the House of the Dead games?

Maybe one of CAPCOM's D&D beat-em-ups, though I'd like to try the "light whip" Castlevania game that Konami made in Japan

I'm glad that you are expressing your opinion, but you are wrong.

I am a casual player, and I only play casual matches, and I don't really have any of these complaints.

Go play street fighter 4 if you don't like combo oriented gameplay, but don't outright say that one of the most popular fighting games ever, a game that is still being played eleven years later, sucks.

And here's a newsflash: Every marvel/capcom game since MSH has been about combos.

Yes, even MVC1.

If anything, the way the life regen, damage, and dizzy works in MVC2 only prevent things like dying in a single combo. You just gotta learn where to make the damage, or turn the timer off if you're worried. If you don't want an assist gaining back his red life, use a snapback. That's what they were designed for.

anyway, I'd probably own a time crisis 2 machine.

I have. It's a lot of fun, and you feel like a zombie slaying badass. I've also tried this with area-51.

I did it with Area-51 one as well. It really does make you feel badass. I tried it once with Time Crisis, didn't quite work. Ghost Squad does but it's a pain when you have to do the objectives like free the hostages...

The Simpsons. Easy. I fucking loved that arcade game.

But also, I had a lot of fun with Toobin' growing up.

Still, Simpsons has hands down fucking amazing.

Did you ever have a friend who thought it was more important to go to the bathroom than help you finish the final levels? Dual wielding was at its most awesome in Crisis Zone and Gunblade NY.

To be fair, going to the bathroom will always be more important than beating any game. Unless you have to drop a deuce, that can easily be done in your pants and emptied at a later time.

It'd definitely be one of the Sega Model 3 arcade cabinet games. Maybe Magical Truck Adventure, The Ocean Hunter or the Star Wars Trilogy arcade.

I'm gonna be a colossal minority (oxymoron!) in this thread, but if I had to choose one and only one arcade game to have at home, that would be...

DDR Extreme.

I love the game and regretfully I haven't played it in ages and literally feeling the consequences... D:>

For that matter. any DDR arcade will do as long as:

1) it's the Asian version and not an "Americanized" one, and
2) Includes this song:
