OkI think we need a limit on money spent, I like around $25 (maybe including shipping) is a good buy.

Yeah, I think I could get in on this maybe, long as we're not spending too much.

Made my list. I made sure everything could be purchased for less than $20. Only thing is I might be moving soon, so hopefully I have an address to change it to before we do it.

Interesting idea. The one thing that I don't like about it is everyone is basically going to buy something that they would buy anyway as we would be using wish lists.
I think a neater (much harder to manage and actually pull off) would be a yankee candle swap.
Assign numbers, #1 picks a person who then reveals the gift they will be giving, repeat and watch the mayhem!

I think we should make the limit either $25 or $29.99, since $25 is where you can start getting free shipping on Amazon.

Pretty confident that it's illegal to mail alcohol, haha.

Agreed, was just about to suggest this myself. I'd say a $30 hard limit is reasonable. That way it's all nice and fair.
And yeah, I'm all for it. I don't think buying people something they'd already get is a big deal, Rydog. I mean, that's pretty much what a good present is, right? something you want, that someone else gets for you. Especially when people don't have daily face to face contact, 'choosing your own gift' is really the only way to go.
I'm so totally down for this. I have absolutely no money, but for this, I'll frigging find some. Brilliant idea I can't wait to help execute.

As much as I'd love to, I'll have to decline this. After 16 people on my list, I'm tapped out for holiday spending.

Unfortunately, finances insist I decline as well, particularly since I'm throwing my money into promoting other on-forum activities.

I would love to partake in this but getting me would be like getting the hard end of the stick since you have to mail it to the other side of the world.
So i must decline.

Well, the idea was to set up Amazon wish lists and then buy it throught those. So, presumably it would ship through Amazon UK, since that's where your wish list would be.

Hmmm the only way i could see it working is if i made one on the UK and then the gift was bought via the UK one. I've ordered from the US one before and the stuff comes from the US (if that's what you meant).
In that case i suppose i am in!

I'm all for this, but like I said, I've already bought another forumer a gift Should I just not participate this year? Or should I let everyone know not to buy something for that forumer or what?

aika would like another present I'm sure.
Rydog are you talking something like this - Our family does something every year called "White Elephant". We all get gifts that range from $20-$30 we wrap them then everyone draws a number, #1 chooses first then #2 chooses. However if #2 would rather have what #1 picked they can choose to swap instead. If they swap then #1 gets to open another gift. Moral of the story is you don't want to be #1. This year I have bought a Snuggie and Shake Weight. It's going to be fantastic.

Exactly, but #1 would get stuck with the gift swapped to them not open a new one. Then #3 opens next, and has their choice of #1s, #2s, or keeping what they got and so on and so on. It's a blasty blast.
