This is the second time in my owning a PS3 that something has happened that has made me pissed off at Sony, the first was when I installed Home and had to re-format my system.

It's not the fact that they are having Technical Difficulties, but the fact that they haven't said a damn word and have not sent any messages to the owners through the e-mail they have given for the PSN accounts.

I'm waiting for that too, but in all honesty when compared to the RROD, at least I was able to play some music and some PSOne games while the X-Box 360 wouldn't run at all...

Can't you just be patient and wait it out until they fix whatever problem they're having? Do you really need a handwritten message explaining in detail what the problem is and an exact time as to when it'll be fixed and can't stand to be without the PSN for a little while?

Go out and have lunch and it'll be sorted by the time you get home.

Exactly. The X-box 360 (or as the young ones call it, the Gay Box 3-Shitty) is the Chevy/ford of video game consoles. Once it gets fucked up, it's not the same.

But at the end of the day, they both have their pros and cons. I'm just super pissed because Heavy Rain is sitting in there right now and I have a day off from school.

Sorry, not a PS3 owner, so excuse my ignorance, but...

Can't you still play single player games, or multiplayer games with people in the same room? Or does every PS3 game only have multiplayer over PSN?

Ah, depends on the game. I guess you could play Street Fighter IV, for instance, with a friend beside you. The system still works, I've been watching some Lost episodes and whatnot during the day, but on the "press release" (I use the term loosely) Sony warned users not to use the system, specially not to play any Trophy-enabled games due to risk of losing and/or corrupting data (Trophy data is synced with your PSN account or some such)

I don't care for trophies... but just to be on the safe side, I'm playing some Rogue Galaxy on my old PS2 right now =)

It fucked up some dev kits too, causing data loss. Supposedly Elder Scrolls V got romped by this.

Well my Xbox360 controller just broke the other day, and I had to drop $50 for a new one. I think that's actually teh first time in my videogame career where I've had a controller flat out break on me.

Normally I'd say you could, but I popped in The Darkness this morning which is a Single Player and it wouldn't run. Tekken 6 can be played offline but the Trophy Installation which happens every time you start the game would get an internal error. Same with Farcry 2 and Burnout Paradise. Any game that could be updated by the PSN also was afflicted.

Yeah, it was just a one day bug that was caused by calendar stuff in the ps3. One day with a software glitch isn't that bad imo. Still not cool.

As an individual who skipped over the PS3, I have been laughing pretty hard at how dumb this error is. They fucked up the damn clock? Really? I mean... it is 2010. The last time we had so much news over technological clocks was 1999. How the fuck could they mess up the damn clock?
