For me, it was Sonic the Hedgehog 2. It was early in the morning during a weekend and it was a rare occurance that my older brothers let me touch the Genesis, so I had to play while they were gone. As I got near the end, I was desperately trying to finish it before they caught me and beat the shit out of me (as older brothers are entitled to do). After I beat the final boss, I got so excited, ran into my sister's room to wake her up and tell her the awesome news. She didn't share my excitement and wasted no time ratting me out to my brothers, who promptly beat the shit out of me, but I didn't care because I had finally beaten Sonic 2, the first video game I ever beat.

So what's your story?

You Bastard!! I still have never beat that game. I've gotten to the last boss like 12 times but could never get in there with any coins, so I'd end up dying.

First game I ever beat though, I can remember this easily because it was with a bunch of complete strangers who were all older than me. The Simpsons Arcade game at Funworld at my 7th birthday party. Smile

Really?! i think thats the easiest final boss in the sonic games. well, maybe sonic 1 is easier, but metal sonic + the death egg weren't that hard to me

Good question. I believe it was the original Final Fantasy, on the NES.

I don't recall any owning any 2600 games with an actual ending, so I'm gonna say... Law of the West on C64.

Yea I know what you're saying. So many people have beat this game. I haven't tried very much since I've been older, but I have given it a few shots. I can get past the Metal Sonic no problem but I dunno, I don't think I've even hit the robot in the times I've gotten there.

I'm pretty sure I beat Super Mario Bros. as early as 6.

It was either Pilotwings, Sonic 2, or A Link to the Past, not sure exactly which.

For many years, I thought Fire Fighter on the Atari 2600 was the first game I beat. Unfortunately, the game loops, so that is not the case.

It was likely either Ghostbusters on the Atari 2600 or DuckTales on the NES.

Rings. And you can't get any on that stage anyways.

The easiest way to do it is hit him when he lands, he dips down a bit and it's an easy hit. You can sneak some hits in at other times if you jump high enough to get over the claws.

And try that son of a bitch with Knuckles. Yipes.

Anyways...Contra for me.

Or just do the debug mode if you're that desperate (for the record, I did not use the debug mode).

Probably SMB, but I'm not sure because it took like 4 years (I started playing when I was 2 or 3 years old).
I always used the "infinite" lives glitch in 3-1, and even then I had a lot of trouble getting past 8-2 and 8-4.

Still, I was better than most of my friends, and 2 of my cousins tried playing with the controller backwards because of me.

SMB3, but I used the whistles, so in terms of beating legit, it's the original DKC.
