Anyone that has owned a PS3 has at some point or another seen this one option under the Network Bar Thing called Folding Home, I was wondering if any of you have tried it out and know what it is. I just entered into it at like 1:00 and from my understanding, it's to donate energy to help this one project these college people are doing.

Folding@home (sometimes abbreviated as FAH or F@h) is a distributed computing (DC) project designed to perform computationally intensive simulations of protein folding and other molecular dynamics (MD). It was launched on October 1, 2000, and is currently managed by the Pande Group, within Stanford University's chemistry department, under the supervision of Professor Vijay Pande. Folding@home is the most powerful distributed computing cluster in the world, according to Guinness[1], and one of the world's largest distributed computing projects.[2] The goal of the project is "to understand protein folding, misfolding, and related diseases."[3]

so basically "please leave your PS3 on at all times so that it will overheat and break faster."

JEW, Theres an Emblem called Giant Panda you get in MGS4 by playing or sitting for 30 hours of game time. So basically leave your PS3 on for 30 hours and watch your PS3 explode, your house explode and your fuggin bills sky rocket to beyong the Milky Way. Theres also one Emblem thats called Chicken, you gotta do kills and stuff but you also have to have been playing 35 FUCKING HOURS

um. you could jsut keep playing for thirty five hours, as opposed to waiting thirty hours and then playing for another thirty.

I know, but it has to be in one game. If your playing at the lowest difficulty level and you suck at action games, it takes adleast 20-25 hours. If you really suck at stealth games and are just learning the controls. Also my Folding Home thing is at 60% so far Razz

pfft, my friend left his MGS4 game on for a whole day because he had to go to work and forgot to play the next day, so nothing will happen if you leave it on for 30+ hours.

which is why he was surprised when his game had 40+ hours of gameplay on MGS4.

Think of how long display systems at stores are on. I know that at Office Depot, we don't bother to turn off anything but the TVs when we leave.
