When I first heard about it, I thought an Amish kid went postal. Thankfully, that wasn't the case. However, it really is sick that Charles Carl Roberts IV wasn't Amish, had no problems with the Amish, got his milk from the Amish, and then one day decided to kill as many Amish school girls as he could.

So this is yet another school shooting which seems to be back in style with a vengeance this year.

What bothers me about this crime is the sheer number of factors that went into this shooting. It didn't have to be in an Amish school, it could've happened anywhere. The shooter alludes to events years ago which can't be confirmed. Roberts apparently just snapped yesterday. Yet, it is so close to another school shooting that just happened, we can't help but think that something is going on. Of course, they were wildly different and merely "just one of those things".

This really goes to show that no school anywhere is safe from random acts of violence. Canada, maybe, but I never really thought that the Amish would be victims of a school shooting. Crazy.

In a related note, we had to evacuate because there was a bomb threat at my high school today. Some shithead used his cell to phone in the threat. Turns out it was a student, so the guy got arrested.

That kid was a douchebag anyway. He was one of these "gangstas", which means he was a white kid who wore his pants way too fucking low. Also, he was LD. Alone, that's not a bad thing, but combine it with a complete disregard for others and a bad attitude, and you have a lethal combination.

Later today, I was in health class when one of his friends asked the substitute teacher "Hey, dude, are you French?". And his other friend says "Naw, man, he ain't French. He's white." I swear to God that last sentence will be the cause of a stroke that I'll have later in life. Retard. Rolling Eyes

We used to get 2-3 bomb threats per year when I was in highschool. Several times we got sent home early because of it.

From what I understand, if you're caught making a threat, the punishments are very severe now. If the kid who did it at your school was over 18, he could be in some serious shit.

(I always thought it was funny how the principal would come over the PA system and say "may we have your attention.....the school has received a bomb threat," and rather than be frightened, everyone was like "YES!")

When I was in high school, bomb threats started to get common, like one every week or two, so they stopped letting us go home. Every one had to walk to the middle school which was pretty close to the high school and spend the rest of the day in the gym, after doing that a couple times, the bomb threats seemed to slow down.

See, my school never cancelled for shit and I'm sure they got threats daily. I do know we had dogs walking through halls sometimes sniffing lockers, there were a few random locker searches as well. I remember when I had my locker searched. I went to it after class one day and everything was organized. I usually just throw stuff in there, but the cops were nice enough to make it all pretty. Gotta appreciate that. Never heard anything about it though, so I guess I passed. Cool

He pantomimed the joke, so in a sense he did act on it. I wasn't bragging about that,least i don't think it did.

Yes, i did leave out the crucial word "joke" from my post. I was pulling another series of all-nighters when i did that.

No disrespect to my Grandfather/last remaining relative to not hate my guts. He did a lot of real really cool things in his 80 years (still) alive, many of which i do brag about from time to time. Thanks for pointing out my grievous mistake.

Last year when I was in high school some kid called a pay phone outside our school and was like HUHUHUUHUH BOMB HUHUUHUHH and a redneck kid answered, and promptly told some school person and we all got evacuated, HERES THE BEST PART! They evacuated us by loading us all on buses and driving us 5 inches away from the school as police walked around aimlessing looking for bombs. We occupied ourselves by rocking the bus back and forth. Terrorists most certaintly didn't win that day, but morons did.
