Fuck that! If I have to trade in $50 worth of games, games that I bought with my hard-earned cash, games that may have some play value left in them (or that I play regularly), just to appease some money-hungry executive asshat who says "Hey, we could earn more cash by fucking over our customers!", then I'll just wait and buy the console after it's released. Cover the deposit my ass! Money is supposed to cover a deposit! That's what cash is! It's replacement for gold bars, shitheads! Why in God's name, in addition to having people pay full price for a console, are you having them give up games they bought ALREADY!!! Why stop there, huh GameStop? Why not require people to hand over their car title, or the deed to their fucking house, just to cover the deposit and help you fill your already deep pockets! Hell, I know that I'll cut off my legs and give them to you just so I can buy a Wii early! I bet the fucking executive who made this thought "Hey , these gamers are a bunch of addicted retards! I bet that if we ask them to sacrifice goats and small children in order to preorder a console, they will! They are SO stupid that barely any of them graduate high school". Stupid asswipe CEO's! Take your stupid preorder policy, and SHOVE IT UP YOUR PINSTRIPE-WEARING ASS!!! I pity any Hawaiian gamer who happend to be shopping at GameStop the day this "test" happened. Stupid fucking power-hungry money-grubbing pieces of feces!

I've never been all that interested in pre-ordering a system anyway.
I figure we've waited this long, so I can wait another couple of months until the demand dies down. Plus, that way you're less likely to get a glitchy system. (Though I think Nintendo is better about that than most)

(In my mind,) I think "Fucked" "Used Games" "Screwed" and "GameStop" are all words uttered in once sentence.
I stopped shopping there a little over a year ago. If i want to play some rich kids scrathed up/peanut-butter-finger-printed copy of dead or alive beach volleyball...i know where i can go to save $2 off of a new copy of the same shitty game!!!

I go to EB games (I know they're the same chain now, and if GameStop does this thing, then EB will probably do it too), and I'll buy used if a game I want is out of my price range new, or if it has been discontinued and can only be found locally used at the EB.

Why would I preorder a new console from Game Spot when I can walk into Comp USA on Christmas Eve and pick one up? That's how our first Gamecube was purchased, because no one thinks to look there. It may be the BEST place to buy a new console.

Jeebus, you shouldn't have shared that. Now the thousands of gamers who read this site will flood CompUSA on November 19th.
But seriously, I bought my Nintnedo DS at release at Wal-Mart, even though if you looked online everywhere was sold out.
On a side note, five seconds ago I saw a commercial for Attacktix (you know, the figures made by Hasbro that are part of some game), and originally they were only Star Wars figures, but now they have Transformers figures, also. And they are PART OF THE SAME GAME! YOU CAN HAVE STAR WARS CHARACTERS VS TRANSFORMERS!!! 
Maybe I'm overreacting.

As I understand it, buying used games is a good way to deny money to the company who made the game, its really bad for them. Its really bad for them, and you get shit for game credit from those places. Plus the service is terrible. Dont bother. Get a shiny new one, or buy it from a friend. Thats what I do, when someone I know is going to sell a game back, I take a look at it, and if I like it and got the cash, I offer them five dollars more than what the store would give them. I also sell games that I get really burned out on to people I know for about 5 dollars more than they will actually give you. Economics bitches!
