http://www.cracked.com/article_15243_next-25-years-video-games.html

with all the Skynet and matrix movies being made to frighten people to think machines will control humans some day, i doubt anything past #3 will be made for the mass do to controversial views and the mass protests against a computer dominate future. Plus i don't like the idea of pulling a Neo and plugging in, never have. Besides, there has to be a limit, there is a limit to any achievement and we shall reach it with technology one day.

On a positive note, Spore looks down right VGO awesome!.

Sounds like you'll need a speedy internet connection to fully enjoy Spore...and I won't be able to, since I have dial-up. Crying

Actually, if the technological singularity is to be believed, we will never reach any limited point with technology. There will be a point where it's so integrated into us that technology becomes evolution, and continues to progress.

Either that, or the Mayans and Chinese called it, and we're fucked in December 2012. Life well spent.

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind.

Bah. They're expecting cybernetic eyeball implants in 10 years, and yet only just now, people are being blown away by a controller that reacts to your movement! I don't think so. It might be -possible-, but there's no way that kind of technology is gonna be feasible for mass-consumer use for a very long time, and certainly nobody would use it to play friggin' video games.

Future technology moves fast, but it will -always- be much slower than people think to make huge leaps, and they won't happen until it's cheap. And future predictions are worthless anyways...isn't Pan-Am supposed to be offering flights to the moon colonies by now?

Some people who use the social communication platforms on internet (MySpace, MSN Messenger or the interner forums) for too long need a medical therapy nowadays. They cannot talk very well and they feel ashamed to meet with the "real" people. They become really weird and I'm sure, that's not what they really want.

Also, even there would be device to interact my brain senses and format it into an input for the video game, I would still prefer playing NES with classic NES controller. And I would want to shout, yell, swear (sometimes) and I would like to throw my controller to the floor, too.

So, even with the most advanced technology, I think it'll be unable to perform one's basic need of physical action and social activity.

Try 4.0. Its a videogame where you have to crunch your own numbers. Oh, and you have to rent your graphics from WoTC.

Whatever happened to virtual reality? I thought I'd be banging Rachel Bilson through my TV by now.
