So, it has just been anounced that Jake Gyllenhaal will be playing the title role in Prince of Persia. And, Gemma Arterton* will be playing the princess.

When we cast white people to play Persian royality, its no wonder the Middle East hates us.

Well, at least with that movie, they have an explanation of how a white guy became a Japanese warrior. They didn't just say, "Hey, Tom Cruise is Japanese!!"

I fear if this movie is a success, we may next see Jean Claude Van Damme playing George Washington in a bio-pic. "Ve Mudst Fight Fer Our Freedum!!!"

ZOMG! I was thinking the exact same thing. I don't know why but British chicks are hot.

So the new Prince of Persia movie is underway. I havent played any of the games but the jist i get is there is a warrior prince who has the power to control time.

I never think about any of the newer Prince Of Persia games, because I have never played them. I just think of playing the original on my Amiga, and getting impaled by spikes alot.

well, at this point it feels as though you guys are just arguing semantics. although they originated and stayed in japan, it doesnt mean that they HAVE to be japanese. my buddy jim kelly says otherwise

Perhaps, but all of the examples you guys are using as exemptions to the rule are from the fictional world of the movies. That only illustrates Knyte's point further.

I am so fucking sick of people bagging on The Last Samurai. And it's always people who haven't seen it.

Is Paul Mooney funny now? No, he's not. He's a guy who saw a movie poster. He never saw the fucking movie and he came up with a joke that is only funny to other people who haven't seen the movie, because it plays off of assumptions rather than reality. In the world of stand-up, there are many comedians who do this and they do it willfully. They're lazy, ignorant bastards who tell jokes based on half-truths and assumptions for a cheap laugh and a quick buck. They're worse than cable news because cable news at least ATTEMPTS to get the facts right whereas these comedians intentionally spread disinformation for their own gain.

The truly great comedians are the ones who actually know what they're talking about.
