Hey guys, my website is now up and running. www.valdronius.com

It's pretty bare bones right now, something I hope to rectify as time goes on. So let me what you think. Thanks.

That Maniac Mansion article was great. I grew up with the "bastardized" NES version, but still... I used to LOVE the game.

If I recall correctly, the NES version had at least on cool feature: since you couldn't pirate NES games as easily as you could pirate computer games, you didn't have to deal with the annoying copyright protection password that you needed to open the door to second half of the house.

I don't remember that at all. Nor was it in the C64 rom I used for the article.
I do, however, remember the copyright codes you needed to buy plane tickets in Zak McCracken. Those were fucking annoying. Fortunately the C64 rom for the game hacked them, so you dont need them anymore. Maybe that was the case with MM as well.

If the C64 version of Zak McCracken had the copyright protection, then its version of Maniac Mansion probably did as well. This is the door that was password protected. This screenshot is actually from the NES version, because that was easier to snag:

And here is a scan of the copyright protection from my LucasArts Classic Adventures manual:

Well, I just had my first IM conversation with Val, which crashed and burned worse than the Challenger. And, yes, it is all my fault.

He asked me to read and then shamelessly plug the latest update on his site, which you should all check out: here.

Well, first I go to the wrong site because I don't check bookmarks as I'm posting a pointless rant elsewhere. By the time I come to the site it's the wrong one, but I don't catch on or realize it until he questions why I'm making no sense. Finally, I realize I'm at the wrong site, curse a ton, and then go to his site.

Then I responded with my response to the update which I thought was a sad short story. It seems I completely missed the point and he gave up and went to bed. So I'm going to give myself the Asshole of the Moment award and beg forgiveness. Maybe it was the sleep deprivation... Maybe the Adventure Island reference was lost on me... I don't know. All I know is: I'm a dick. And I pray that this was only fiction and not a real condition. If it is: I resign from the internet forever.

I'm sorry. Crying

Maybe everyone else here will have a happier story to tell after reading this tragic tale. If not, I declare that it is cursed.

Tebor, Tebor, Tebor.
There is nothing to feel bad about. It's all fiction. Nothing I say should taken seriously. Except when I go off on animal right groups. Then you should take me seriously.

I also have an idea for a project, but I don't know if it will be worthwhile, or even funny. Let me know what you think of the concept.

Wow Val, that card is impressive. Did you use the same program that was used for the M:tG Katrina cards or is it something of your own concoction?

Uh..., I just wanted to give an idea of what I'd be doing, so I downloaded a picture of a magic card, and picture of orton, and put them together with paint. If I were to actually put time into this, I'd improve the quality of the cards....

And now when people read the MHS story, and look up MHS on a search engine, what do you think they'll find?

I was only asking because some ridiculously clever person made an entire set based off of the Hurricane Katrina disaster. I don't have the website available right now but he/she uses a program that he/she created to make the cards look realistic.

Your fake card isn't bad at all. If you wanna see a horrible attempt at a fake card, here's mine:

I'm sure there's humour in that card, it's just lost on me....
Seeing as this thread is active again, I'll give you guys an update.
WWE:tG is about half done. I didn't really think about it when I started, but there are about 85 people on the WWE roster, and that's not including a couple I'm putting in for good measure. And that 85 is just the creature cards, I also have to do spells. Luckily I have the RAW roster done, and am going to maove on to Smackdown! once I finish my second Syd-esque article, which will hopefully be up by mid-week.

It's a mildly clever play on some lyrics to the song "Mr. Brightside" by The Killers.

Alright, my second video game review is up. But rather than using the direct link in the news section, I encourage you to go through the doppelgänger page. I'm hoping it'll be worth your while.

As embarrassing as it is to make three consecutive posts in my own thread, I have news to relate.

It seems people are having trouble finding my Pocky and Rocky article. (That or they just aren't interested, which I *know* is not the case). Anyway, here's a direct link.

SydLexia.com is now on my related links on Alexa.com, and Valdronius.com is on Syd's. Mucho thanks to anyone who made this possible.

The big news, however, is that World Wrestling Entertainment: the Gathering is now online. Whether or not it stays as is will be largely determined by how long it takes me to recuperate.

I did very much enjoy the Pocky and Rocky article. And it was I who submitted the Alexa links.

And I absolutely love the pic on the Christy Hemme card. Hulk Hogan is waaaay underpowered though.

He's old. And he does a leg drop. You should be thankful I didn't give him, anti-haste, or something.

Hogan has backstage pull and fan support though and it's always a big deal when he loses. Even if you're anti-Hogan, I would think he'd at least come into play with a few creative control tokens which could be removed to "Bury target creature instead of Hulk Hogan. Use this effect only if a spell or ability would send Hogan to the graveyard."
