It is a crab, it's a coconut crab. So named because they enjoy climbing trees and eating coconuts. And yes, they are fucking massive.

Yeah, I get off work at 10 on Friday and Saturday, and that's the best thing on the radio at the time.

What are the giant invisible flying monsters they talk about sometimes? I can't remember the name it's not mentioned on the Wikipedia page.

No idea. The last two weeks is the first times I've heard it in several months, and it was stuff about chips being implanted in people and psychic people knowing where that billionaire guy crashed his plane, etc. Nothing really interesting.

This was an older thing. It was something Art Bell was obsessed with.

We need to find a way to repeal the square-cube law or whatever is going to get us spiders big enough to fight with assault rifles.

Oh wait, I can barely stand the tarantulas that wander my yard. Lets not do that.

Well, without lower gravity or living underwater, you'll be safe. The bigger the animal gets, the more pressure exerted on its exoskeleton, which would lead either to it collapsing under the weight or growing so thick that the animal can't move anymore. The coconut crab is actually the largest arthropod to be able to pull that off on land. Though I do kinda wish we were still in the days of two foot dragon flies...

A spider has decided to make its web right next to my front door. It's been there for about a month and its web is double layered but dirty as all hell now. There it will stay at least until Halloween is over.

I specifically mentioned the square-cube law, you don't need to explain it too me. I added whatever because I was keeping open the possibility of a substance that would be lighter and more durable than chitin. Very unlikely, but comparitively more feasable than repealing a law of physics. We could always go back to the days of three foot long sea scorpions. With their magical ocean powers, they can rock you like a hurricane.

Why you son of a...

Nah, I was merely elaborating for those who weren't familiar with it. Including myself because I thought that's what you were talking about, but I never actually knew it had a name. Also, I like to sound like I know what I'm talking about, even if it is just repeating the words of people smarter than I.

Srry bout the rudeness. The damn Square-Cube law crushed my hopes for any giant bipedal ANYTHING fight, whether it be monster, robot, or even guy in goofy suit.

Truly it brings nothing but misery to all.

Coast to Coast tonight was people talking about synchronicities. The guy said he had a dream about a rainbow, then he saw a rainbow, then people were talking about rainbows, and that symbolized that things would be going as he planned... or something. They always manage to find these kook weirdo types for the interview segments.

I'm watching a show on Discovery about life during the Silurian period and there was a sea scorpion that grew up to ten fucking feet long! I knew sea scorpions were big, but holy shit.
