My predictions? New Zelda delayed till 2019 so Nintendo releases Skyward Sword HD along with New Super Mario Bros. NX as the only two launch titles. Mario gets a porcupine outfit this time and fanboys declare Nintendo to be innovative.

It doesn't matter what it ends up being. I'm still doomed to buy two on release.

Why not just buy a second if and when the first breaks down?

This. I've genuinely never heard of someone buying two consoles at release in case one breaks down. I've had the same PS2 since 2002, and I'm not sure ever getting another would've done me any good.

If Excel wants twice the disappointment, then that's his business. Just like when people voted for Obama twice.

I'm the one who wanted Nintendo to delay NX just to force all of us to put up with the Wii U even longer. If we're going to do this, we're doing it together.

It's mostly because extreme Nintendo fanboys tend to live with their parents, so they don't really have to pay actual bills other than phone, video games, toys and whatever other goofy bullshit they get addicted to spending their money on.
I'm joking. Kinda. Maybe not.

I take umbrage as a Nintendo fanboy who was totally financially independent from his parents at age 19.

I've determined that there is only one way for the NX to succeed. Miyamoto needs to die before its release so Nintendo is no longer beholden to his ego masturbating ideas and remember how to make shit worth playing. Nintendo really needs to give him a Gunpei Yokoi retirement ceremony along with the jackass who decided to put GBA games on Wii U instead of 3DS.

Nintendo always thrived when they were able to have tons of great exclusive third party titles. They've always put out amazing first party games. But when other companies can put out the same game on both Xbox and Playstation, who wants to make great Nintendo exclusive titles besides Nintendo?
They still have some great third party titles on the handheld systems, I just wish we would have got more of that out of the Wii U. I feel like we could have got a whole lot more out of the console before moving on. There are some amazing games for the system, but they still dropped the ball. Even the success of the Wii was largely based on a gimmick. While there were a lot of good games, there was also tons of crap (I guess you could say that about all consoles though).
I just hope the NX is able to get some solid third party support to make it a great system, and it's not just the usual Nintendo franchises carrying the load. At least do more with some of their other properties. I know we usually get at least one decent game from most of their franchises, but then it feels like tons of Mario related or spinoff titles makes up the bulk of the good games. Let's see more from DK, Kirby, Metroid, Punch Out, Star Fox, F Zero, Pilotwings, Pikman, Kid Icarus, etc. And for FFS, do somebody do something with the fucking Mother series (Fuck you Nintendo! Fuck you Itoi!).

The Wii U really disappointed me as a Nintendo fan, ended up giving it to my niece and she enjoys it. The whole concept of it would have appealed to me as a 10 year old but not at 33.
That said I would like to see what Nintendo can do with this. It appears to have cell phone level graphics so im not sure whats the point....

Meh, it's a cool idea and looks more appealing than the Wii U, but it won't mean anything if it's the same old Nintendo with their head up their ass. It'll be a wait and see approach from me. Hopefully they'll make a game that appeals to me besides just Zelda but they'll likely be too busy sploodging Mario and Kirby games all over it.

This is pretty much how I feel about it. I'm not really sold by the take-it-anywhere premise given I have a 3DS, so I'm going to wait and see what the line-up looks like.

I'm still going to get at least two. Think of the modding potential.

I can't see it replacing the 3DS. Sure, it has a portable element, but the size of it and the likely short battery life would probably prohibit the practicality of it. I want to like it, I hope Nintendo gets it together and wins me back.

I think the Switch mostly looks awesome, but my biggest concern is that the reveal trailer didn't show any footage of more than two people playing on a single Switch. If local multiplayer is capped at two, I'll be upset, particularly after having gotten so much mileage out of 8-player Smash.

If we can trust the video fully, we could see as many as 16 players locally. I can't wait to see how that works out in practice.
I'm gonna take a wild guess and predict it'll be comparable in size to those medium-size tablets like the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7. If that's the case, it should only have a little problem fitting into my pocket. Either way, I'm not using those Joy-Con things if I can help it, so it looks like I'm gonna have to get used to bringing around one of those mini backpacks I keep seeing the young adults have.
As for price, I'm guessing it'll be $250 with Nintendo planning to make profits on accessories. That car mount isn't going to come with it, that's for sure.

I'm watching with curiosity, though I hope they've got an impressive launch selection lined up.
Interesting to see how the controller's right thumbstick has switched back to imitate the Gamecube.
Saying "Joy-Con Controller" out loud sounds incredibly silly to me, but maybe that's something that flies better overeseas.
