Comic Book Men is basically Clerks 3.

Fixed.
Also, while not the biggest fan of Smith's stuff, I do love the first Clerks. He's kind of the opposite of Tarantino in the dialogue department in my eyes. Tarantino's huge stretches of dialogue always seem forced and self inflating while Smith's kinda feels natural, to an extent. Not a huge fan of the fan base and the LOL 420 SMOKE WEED attitude of most of them though. I do think Clerks 3 will be a pretty awesome movie, and I'm staying positive about it.

I love Comic Book Men, especially since I love comic books and the nerdy dialouge to boot. I am also a huge That Metal Show fan so that type of nerdy fan conversation is right up my alley.

That show just feels too contrived to me. Like every reality show they have to think of stunts to put them in each week. Otherwise, the show would just be them sitting at the store, shooting shit for the entire time. It's all so obviously forced. Plus, the stars aren't likeable.

See I find the stars likeable, and I would actually love if the show was an hour of them debating comic book and movie stuff. I would watch that all the time, I love shows like that or shows with parts in them like that (i.e. Top Gear, That Metal Show, For What it's Worth etc.)
Back to the topic though I am excited about Clerks III and have always been a big Kevin Smith fan, including his spoken word performances.

Enjoyed the first Clerks, but I thought Clerks 2 was terrible.

Clerks 2 had some great moments, like the fight between the Stars Wars fans and the LOTR fans. It reeked a little of desperation, given the huge time lapse between the two, but it was still highly satisfying in many regards. It also seemed a little charitable. I mean, no one else is hiring Randall and Dante.

I actually kind of liked Clerks 2. I liked the Star Wars v. LOTR fan thing that Syd mentioned, but I also kind of liked the serious stuff, like the speech Randal gave at the end about Dante being a pussy for leaving because he felt like he was supposed to.
There was a lot in that movie that I connected to in that regard.

I saw something posted on Facebook this morning about Clerks III. KS said he has completed the screenplay, or at least has finished writing the script.

he finished his first draft of the script. which means probably 3-5 more rewrites and/or adjustments & he would be good to go

For that Rosario Dawson .gif, you win +1 Internet. Well done, sir. Well done indeed.

I've heard more than once that he said Clerks III would be his final film.

He also said he would retire Jay and Silent Bob with J&SB Strike Back. They showed up in Clerks II and I know he's writing Moose Jaws with them as the main characters. And then Clerks III.
So yeah, I doubt it's his last.

I think Red State was a sobering change up. I completely avoided Tusk, but the actor playing the pastor in Red State was amazing to watch.
