It won't be my first time playing as the hero, Beck; that plum goes to Mighty Gunvolt. Still, I'm gonna have one hell of a 30th!

Not gonna lie, after seeing gameplay and more of this game after the initial hype, it looks pretty generic and shitty.

That concept art looked awesome. The gameplay you posted looks boring with less inspired level design than Mega Man games from 20 odd years ago. For it being inspired by Mega Man, that video of the game sure was devoid of any challenging looking enemies or stage hazards.

Gotta side with Woodzy thus far, wasn't really digging the demo video. I'll definitely keep my ears open when the final product launches - but even though this is admittedly a beta, a few things bother me.
I do like how much of the map is onscreen at any given time (on the opposite end of the spectrum, recall the Mega Man Game Boy games). Though the demo didn't really seem to be taking advantage of that real estate, whether by map layout or enemy placement.
Was the Mega Man X wall-climb mechanic dropped? This saddens me, I really enjoyed it for exploring maps and fighting bosses.
The message popups last about three seconds. I have a fast reading speed but that might be too quick for some, especially if the player is in the middle of a fight (see 2:26).

Wow, I haven't kept up on this project but I figured I'd check it out once it was released. I have to agree, this looks extremely dull and simple. I'm pretty shocked by it. It looks like Mega Man X8 but even that was more appealing than this.

UPDATE: The release has been pushed back to sometime next year, due to previously overlooked bugs. Quality has its price, both in money and time.

That is a shame. I was really looking forward to it hitting soon.

Looks more like Gunstar Heroes to me. If it's gonna play similarly to that game, it better be multiplayer.

I'm really not in love with the visuals, but I can't quite articulate why.

My interest in this game has long passed. When a game of this style in this day and age takes this long to come to fruition, there is either something completely wrong with it or they added stuff to it to make it a more compelling buy. I would bet that that there is something wrong with it.

Considering that none of the gameplay videos showed off anything close to compelling, I think we can trust your instincts as a prognosticator.

I really do think Inafune is doing his best to make this happen. Inafune is an artist and producer, not a programmer. I feel that perhaps he was unprepared to create his own infrastructure from the ground up and underestimated the resources necessary to make a game, since at Capcom a lot of stuff was provided to him.
Fair points Syd. I wish ithe game the best and can see that the Kickstarter backers are excited to finally get their hands on it. It might need to be highly polished to meet the original hype but hopefully it's a decent release.
I have a hunch it will either be a major hot or a flop, though. We'll see soon enough I suppose!

I hope it bombs because I'm getting awfully tired of Kickstarters from developers to create knock offs of the games they used to work on. I want Mega Man 11 from Capcom, not this excessive dash bullshit from Inafune.

This describes exactly how I feel about this game. I don't foresee this being a big hit, it will most likely be a one off deal and Inafune will have to come up with new ideas and move on to something else. Leave the Mega Man games to Inti Creates, who has most of the team who worked on the older games as it is. I am aware that Inafune's company is getting help from Inti Creates on this particular game. Maybe he should have just joined their company instead of starting his own and he could still be making Mega Man games.

It just drives me nuts when people say this is a new Mega Man game with a different name or a spiritual successor. Doesn't look at all like it has the same feel. Plus I don't care for 2.5D games. They feel less precise and the graphics tend to distort my perception of space. The graphics just tend to get messy on the screen for me.
