I've never seen it, but I have seen the "pilot", which was Kidz Show, which I liked. Any thoughts on Wonder Showzen? Has anyone seen both Kidz Show and Wonder Showzen and has comments?

Erm, I don't like Wonder Showzen at all. I honestly just think it's more of MTV doing nothing but appealing to the lowest common denominator.

One of my friends brought Season 1 over and we watched a few episodes last night. Some of it is gross, but a lot of it is really funny. (And they use a lot of the pilot stuff in some episode, but not all of it)

I don't understand this whole anti-MTV sentiment. Firstly, MTV didn't make it, a bunch of guys did. Secondly, a show being on MTV has nothing to do with it sucking, just look at The Maxx, or Aeon Flux. Those cartoons are awesome and were on MTV. Ren and Stimpy was on MTV for a time even. Hell, Viacom owns Nickelodeon and MTV, so it's the same people trying to appeal to you. I hate 99% of MTV, anything related to stupid rappers doing stupid bullshit is lame, so I do think that MTV can be described as lowest-common denominator entertainment for the most part. But I don't see why there can't be a few gems. MTV didn't ALWAYS suck, after all.

Not defending Wonder Showzen, just saying, MTV does not instantly equal sucks ass.

Wonder Showzen is awesome. It is at times a bit too sick and maybe trying way too hard to "shock" the viewer, but the Clarence bits are always great. Puppet + harassing people on the street = comedy gold.

I don't care what network a show is on, a good show is a good show. But I WOULD like to gripe about how MTV2 seems to be completely incapable of showing anything exactly when they're supposed to. I don't know if it's just a west coast thing or our cable provider, but whenever I turn on MTV2 at 9:30 on Friday night, when Wonder Showzen is SUPPOSED to be on, the Andy Milonakis Show is usually running a few minutes over. Which is all the more irritating because that "show" is one of the most retarded things I've seen on TV in a long time. Last week they were showing Punk'd at 9:30 which confused me even more. I ended up saying fuck it and just downloaded the episode the next day, which is probably what I'm going to be doing from now on.

It should be noted that shows like The Maxx, Aeon Flux and not to mention The Head and Liquid Televisoon were made during the early 90's era of MTV. Anything on MTV THESE DAYS is almost genuinely crap. What's the latest MTD (Media Transmitted Disease)? A show whose whole premise is stuff I used to hear back in Middle School.

I would like to second that Clarence is always is awesome. Beat Kids is usually great too.

As far as MTV is concerned though, the vast majority of their programming is absolutely horrible so when someone tells me there's a show on MTV that I *have* to see, I tend to raise an eyebrow. Then I hit them with the Rock Bottom and the People's Elbow. For example, I was flipping channels and I got part of some show called My Super Sweet 16 and it was fucking repulsive. The premise of the show is some stuck up little rich girl plans her ridiculously expensive Sweet 16 party. The girls they get for this show are egotistical, snobby, selfish and generally obnoxious. The whole time I was watching, I kept rooting for Klebold and Harris to show up.

I personally think Wonder Showzen is the second worst show on television.
The #1 distinction goes to the Andy Milonakis show.

I don't think that MTV necessarily = the suck, but when both shows are on MTV, along with shows like the aformentioned vomit-enducing My Super Sweet 16 and Laguna Beach, I tend to want MTV to become an actual person so I can cockpunch it.

That being said, MTV didn't always suck. I saw that the Maxx and Aeon Flux were mentioned, but all the original Liquid Television shorts were entertaining, not to mention that MTV2 was, for like 5 minutes, a good spot to find the music that wasn't regularly being played.

In short, MTV obviously has the capability to be relatively cool- but I guess when the biggest chunk of your viewers are 15 year old girls that model t hemselves off of the Bratz dolls, what can you do but appeal to them with the shit we now find MTV spewing? MTV wants to make money, like any other business, and unfortunately, bleach-blonde dipshittery and a babblying 30- year old "kid" sells.

I agree not everything to be on MTV is crap. Sifl and Olly, Beavis and Butthead, and The Maxx were fantastic. Aeon Flux hoever is total shit. Don't believe me? Rewatch the episodes. They're not as good as you remember, especially the last season where the episodes are 3-7 minutes long and Aeon dies in each one.
