My son is 5 and Mario crazy! Actually, he's Luigi crazy. We have the Mario and Luigi WiiU in our closet waiting until Christmas. He wrote to Santa for the Mario cat game, so I'm looking forward to playing it with him. Also, Disney Infinity which looks pretty interesting.

This game is so good, especially when you have three players. In fact, sometimes it's only good when you have multiple players because of those GamePad gimmick stages that otherwise kill your momentum when you have to stop to look at the touch screen.

I main Peach like I always do whenever possible and it feels so weirdly satisfying doing it here. Nintendo should take a hint here. But what gave me high expectations was in the beginning, where
[SPOILER:4767dcd012]the very first cutscene shows Mario and Luigi actually doing some freaking plumbing for once.[/SPOILER:4767dcd012]

[Edit]I think this review sums up why I'm having such a time with it.

I'm not a bad enough dude, but I am an edgy little shit. I'll do what I can.

Got to play an hour of this with my close friend and his five-year-old son (my godson). I general, the first frame in this Penny Arcade comic hits the mark. The controls are easy to pick up and work well, the environments are both aesthetically pleasing and logical, and that Mario charm is in full effect. I would definitely purchase this if I owned a Wii U myself.

One of the levels I played was Beep Block Skyway in World 4. It features alternating/vanishing red- and blue-colored blocks that are needed to cross several bottomless pits. It was quite groovy, and the Double Cherry power up was really fun.

Oh yeah, I got to observe the Invincible/White Tanooki suit that Vert was rambling about. I say let the mechanic stay; there were some levels that were just too difficult for my godson to remain patient on, so I humbly endorse its addition.

Regarding the white Tanooki suit: there should be an option to disable it. In a game where I can easily rack up hundreds of lives, I shouldn't be insulted for losing five in a row.

It doesn't bother me. I never see it, and the kids who play the games and might need it do, so whatever.

So I finally started this one today, fresh off of eviscerating SM3DL. Having learned a lesson from that, completing World 1 took me hours, as i cleared every course as every character, eventually gathering every Green Star and Stamp along the way and making sure at least one of them got a Gold Flag. The Cat Suit's a lot of fun and I quite like Peach's Fiery look, very Samus-ish. When i eventually get Rosalina, I'll clear every course up to that point as her. In the meantime, I'll continue to enjoy the ride.

Update: Completed World 5 (I think), love Peach's Boomerang suit. Reminiscent of Claire Redfield's first appearance.
