I've been playing a lot of Grand Theft Auto III lately. Tonight I decided to go through the graphics options and I turned off the frame limiter. This game now runs so buttery smooth. I never realized how choppy the game runs at 30 frames per second. All my games are now going to run at 60 frames per second because that shit is just beautiful.

The only reason to use a "frame limiter", is to use "vsync", which matches the frames to the refresh rate of your monitor. Why, you may ask, would you want only 60FPS instead of possibly way more like 100+? Because it helps prevent graphic glitches such as screen tearing.

I thought this was going to be about old games running too fast.

Out of curiosity, is there an easy fix for that?

Use DOSBox and throttle the CPU as much as possible.

I'm not a bad enough dude, but I am an edgy little shit. I'll do what I can.
