So this evening, I'm watching my brother's girlfriend play The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. At some point before I witness her eviscerate Ill Met By Moonlight, the back of an opened envelope catches my eye. It's one of those envelopes that shows information about missing persons, the one in question being a girl named Mariam, who disappeared two days before my 24th birthday. Two hours later--one hour ago, as I write this--I'm in the living room watching my local TV Listings channel, the last one my mother turned to before falling asleep on the chesterfield, and that's when I saw it: "Tragic end in Mariam case: Teen killed in apparent fall from highway overpass." I read about her disappearance two and a half years after it happened and of its unfavorable resolution not long after. I just don't know what to say about that other than this thread's title.
