Yo, it's time for a game! I know there was a thread for this years ago but 1. i can't find it and 2. there's loads of new people so it will be interesting to see the results now or if things have changed.
Here is the link:
http://www.politicalcompass.org/test
Here's my results:
Between Communism and Anarchism. Feels good man.
Economic Left/Right: -4.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.85

I've taken this test before, and others like it. I forget exactly where I placed, but I tend to score as fiscally conservative/moderate while being socially liberal.

Oh cool I'll take this test, I wasn't around back when there was a thread about it
It did have a few questions I didn't quite understand or cared about, but yeah, I'm okay with the results

Kind of interesting that everyone seems to be falling close to a certain demographic here. I'm interested, quite frankly, in seeing how many people wouldn't, and wondering whether or not the test might be a little biased.

I remember this test, and it's way biased. nearly everyone winds up on the left and towards Libertarian. That's because the test doesn't take into account things like how much you care about a certain topic. If you water it down with a ton of questions about civil liberties that address the same basic topic then it slants the results. I do think there's some truth to the notion that most people are more left-leaning than many would have you believe, but in this test you have to basically lie to wind up near the Authoritarian/Right corner, or just be a complete maniac.
That said, here's where I fell! I'm sure I'll be one of the biggest leftist on this site.
Economic Left/Right: -7.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.72

I certainly didn't care about a lot of the social questions. Could have affected my score.
According to the original topic three years ago ( http://www.sydlexia.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8167) I had a score of:
Economic: 4.25
Social: 2.51
After just retaking it, I got:
Economic: 4.38
Social: 1.18
Does this show a shift in my actual social views? Possible. But as I said above, I really don't care too much about social issues. Also, it's still is close to where I was when I first took a four tiered test like this freshman year of college, almost 14 years ago.

That's mine. I think it is a little biased but I guess kind of close to accurate. I'd personally see myself even closer to the middle because I hold some fairly conservative views mixed with some very liberal ones to the point I'd think they'd balance out.

I took it to humor myself, mainly. It questions our stance on abortion in regards to society, but not personally, which for some reason is impossible to distinguish in modern society. While I don't want my child aborted for almost any reason, I see no problem with others doing it because it's their child and their bodies.

Yeah, same but I also believe they it's because they don't distinguish between personal and societal views.

My current results:
The Political Compass
Economic Left/Right: 4.00
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 2.00
My old results:
Ec: 5.00
Soc: 0.67
As Cattivo said, I doubt my beliefs have actually shifted. It's a matter of how I was feeling when I answered the questions, and how much I was willing to consider the implication of such questions.
For example: "I'd always support my country, whether it was right or wrong."
In theory, yes. But on a day when I'm feeling especially cranky or cynical, I might say no.
And some things I strongly agree with one day, I might only agree with on another day. And that shifts the balance as well.

I agree this needs either a "I don't give a shit" or a "I'm on the fence about this" button.
Before : Ec -3.62, So -3.33
Now : Ec -3.62, So -2.97
"I'd always support my country, whether it was right or wrong."
I answered "Strongly disagree" on this one, though I'm not certain what they mean with this.

Pretty much exactly what I thought it would be.
Speaking in terms of American politics, I'm left of center, and tend to side with Democrats more often than Republicans. A lot of my positions can't be properly expressed by these questions, like the use of force by the US and the difference between regulating business and regulating trade in general for example.

I used to be closer to the center.
Honestly some things on this test need a "neutral" option

Yeah. An "I don't give a shit" option.
"Do you feel that the manufacturer contributes as much to society as the artist?"
Philosophic bullshit. Don't care.

Where should I start? I guess I should forgive you for wishing harm upon any future born or unborn children I have, considering just because they came from me doesn't automatically make them exactly like me, so your childish remarks about wanting my children to be aborted hold no weight.
I'll also forgive you for referring to me as "justdouche." It was the heat of the moment that swept you away. Keep truckin' dude, you're A+ in my book.

And you continue to be as humorless as ever. You're so much fun to converse with, I can barely stand it. Glad to see you've picked up the vibe of this forum so well. Please continue to douche up nearly every thread you participate in.
Since you clearly are a social corky, I'll translate. The first sentence was literal. The next three were sarcastic.
