I got:
-5 CDS ( Auf Der Maur by Melissa Auf Der Maur, The Serpent's Egg by Dead Can Dance, The Best of Fad Gadget by Fad Gadget, Edward's Lament by House of Low Culture, and II by The Psychic Paramount)
-Two games (Hyper Lode Runner on Game Boy and Retro Game Challenge on DS)
-The new Dexter book, Double Dexter
-A Silent Hill keychain for my USB drive
-$150 in cash (with which I plan to purchase Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, and whatever is left will go towards the clearance rack at Old Navy)
-$30 Gamestop gift card (which may be used towards one of the aforementioned games depending on whether or not I can find one of them used at Gamestop)
And! I still have two friends I haven't exchanged gifts yet.
Also my Christmas dinner consisted of this fantastic breaded chicken my sister made that had mushroom sauce and provolone cheese and a bunch of other unidentifiable yet delicious ingredients, green bean casserole, homemade mashed potatoes, and a crapload of egg nog that I'm probably going to be regretting in an hour or two. Overall I'd say this was a rather successful Christmas.

Making a rare appearance to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
Being an adult sucks at Christmas. Got a new stove, fridge, and a 3 piece furnature set, which is awesome, but it's not like the old days getting a ton of movies, games, and other cool shit.
But my kid had an awesome Christmas. He got:
A new Wii with Mario Wii
That Wii Play Motion game with the extra controller
Mario Party 8
That shooting gallery game with the gun
classic controller
mario skins for the controllers
2000 Wii points
A ton of Legos
He also got Lego Indiana Jones Temple of the Crystal Skull. That shit was expensive since they don't make it anymore. But it's what he wanted the most and he kept asking us and Santa for it.
I didn't have the best Christmas, but I made sure my son got to have the best Christmas, so I still had a great day. Besides, I still get to play with all of his stuff.

Since my birthday is a week apart from Christmas:
* A platter of homemade chocolate chip cookies
* A sandblasted plaque with a raised image of a howling wolf and "Solemn's Den" in green.
* The World Ends With You and the trade of Blackest Night from Nihilistic Glee.
* The 2nd Edition Ironclaw Host's Book
* A handful of Magic cards (he asked what my preferred color was): Sutured Ghoul, Moriok Rigger, Phyrexian Vatmother, Magus of the Abyss, Hymn to Tourach, Nantuko Shade, and Earwig Squad.
* A friend's old desktop PC (he got a new one for his birthday) that I have yet to actually tinker with.

I got clothes and junk.
Also I'm going to be getting some suits because I need some suits for something.
Also my family decided together that we should get a giant flat screen TV as a gift for the whole family rather than each getting out own big gift.

My early Christmas present destroyed my real presents.
I got to visit my paternal grandparents in Texas, who are in their 80s.
We did the following.
Decorated a Christmas Tree as a family
Spent quality time together as a family that we'd not done in at least 10 years
Went to WalMart a million times because old people don't get out much, but I appreciated spending time with them, they think that place is the bee's knees!
Ate out at many severely nice restaurants, and enjoyed each other's company.
Inherited about 50 years out of 70 years of photos, they are dying slowly and giving me a share of the proceeds as it was, and I appreciate that factor of being an inheritor.
I've got lots of heirlooms that are specific to my family and almost the entire set of photo albums from the 50s forward, and I got it for nothing more than calling every day and telling them I love them ([i]and I did that out of honesty, not to gain anything[/]i), the rest of the family ignored them until it was time to take stuff from the dead.
All in all I loved the experience, but I'd trade the goods for the family any day no questions asked.
When it comes to the real holiday I got some stuff that was cool I guess.
During the whole OMG IT'S CHRISTMAS I got to celebrate my Paternal Grandfather's 82nd birthday, that was the treat of treats. That guy rules and I was honored to even share the day with him. I'll miss him the most.

I got Skyrim, Arkham City and various clothes, money and alchol. It's a bit bitter sweet though since my tv decides it hates me and I need a new one. I can play Arkham City on it but not Skyrim, is Skyrim just too hardcore or something?

I don't understand why one game would work on your TV but not another? Are you sure the game's not broken?

You lucky bastard. There's one of those in pristine condition in a local pawn shop for $150-$200.
Or maybe I'm thinking of something else. Either way, nice gift.

It's about time you got a new computer, you should put it to the test and write a new article.

Both games work, it's more of a picture quality thing (sorry should have elaborated). I get this weird flickering effect with Skyrim where it's less noticable with AC. Yeah my tv is ancient, thankfully the sales have arrived!

Ah, got it. I tried playing Dead Rising on a non-HD TV. It is impossible. You can't read the game text at all.

Yeah the unreadable game text and the fact that I was sick of moving my ancient TV that must have weighed 150 lbs easy were contributing factors in my purchase of a new LED-LCD TV at the end of the summer. Just couldn't deal with it anymore when I could get a TV that weighed a fraction of that, had a slightly bigger screen, and actually displayed text in a readable size for a little over 200 bucks.

The big-screen TV from 1995 in my living room does something similar; whenever there's an identical (or sometimes even similar) color across the screen horizonally, my TV flips out and gets all buzzy and warps everywhere. This can obviously get old really, really fast when I'm playing a game like Splatterhouse that has red onscreen all the time.
