I don't know when, but I agree.

However, I'm still tempted to go to Target and get that movie Venom figure...

When they had to stop using metal and small parts. (Because people now adays are pussies when it comes to kids toys and such.) as well as moving the construction of the toys from quality places like Hong Kong and China to 3rd World cheap labor factories.

It's not just toys that suck, it's everything kid related.

My Fiance' has a 2 1/2 year old, and we take him to the park once a week. The park we go to, I used to play at when I was a kid. They use to have a gigantic wooden play structure, complete with bridges and long ass metal slides coming off of it.

"The Mighty Fortress" (That's what my friends and I used to call it.) is gone. In it's place is one of the new playground structures were everything is made out of plastic, and plastic coated metal posts. The slides are all plastic, and the amount of Static electricity they generate are crazy. Everytime my soon-to-be stepson goes down one of them, he ends up looking like Yahoo Serious in Young Einstein, and then when you touch him, it's damn near deadly votages. Personally, I think that's more dangerous, then "splintery wood and Hard metal surfaces."

I know. I just missed the whole "bubble wrap and foam padding" childhood experience, and I'm glad I did. I remember when my elementary school playground was filled with metal slides and woodchips on the ground, now it's plastic slides with foam padding and tire shavings on the ground that my siblings get to play on. Same fucking school.

Also, Japanese Import toys are still damn good, but even the quality of those has gone down. At least Legos haven't cheapened up.

Star Wars stuff is pretty non-sucky. It's actually a step up from the 90's line where all the characters were bulked up on steroids and Kenner/Hasbro threw in action features/accesories whenever they felt like that weren't featured in the films or were just stupid (like including a rifle with the TIE Pilot that was longer than he was tall.)

We still have a couple of those fortress's here. I too remember how awesome they were, not so much now but one of them actually has barrels and stuff to hide in, and one of the early zip cord things. We still use woodchips here, maybe we'll upgrade to pieces of tire in the next couple years.

Also they are trying to ban dodge ball from school cause it singles out "chubby" kids.

Back on topic. I haven;t bought a toy in quite a long time but the toys I see in the local wal-mart and the store that for some reason is still called K-B- Toys, even though its a barren wasteland, look damn near horrible. I miss my old Ninja Turtle toys...

Toy Biz toys were pretty good.

I did backflips off the swings out of the gravel pit for fun in grade school. Kids are fucking pussies these days.

I second that statement.

Someone should tie up their parents, and go give their kids slingshots and lawndarts to play with. Just because we are supposed to be living in a PC age, doesn't mean we have to be pussies, do we?

Society better not turn into Demolition Man's San Angeles. Where everyone is complete wusses.

What Clone Trooper and what exactly is "shitty" about it? Most Clone Trooper figures released since ROTS have been super-articulated (14 points +) or at least close to it, many have pistols that fit snugly into holsters, excellent sculpts, paint jobs, removable helmets that reveal Temuera Morrison's mug beneath and more. Hell, they even went out of their way to make a few with Bodie Taylor, who portrayed the younger clones seen briefly on Kamino, face under the helmets. The only really shitty Clones I can think of that came out recently were the four packs of troopers in static poses that were meant more for diorama setups than posing and play released around ROTS. So if you bought those guys then yeah, those are pretty shitty figures. But if any other clone, you're mistaken about it being shitty.

this thing i got has 16 points of articulation. no removable helmet. one tiny ass gun without a holster. another tiny ass antenna to put on his back. and thats about it. just by touching the damn thing you can feel how cheap the plastic is.

Is this a lame knockoff/one of those Attacktix figures for that battling game?

Nah, it's the basic super articulated mold they have repainted into several different troopers by this point. I admit, it's not the most exciting of the troopers available, but still not really shitty. I'm not sure what sort of plastic quality you want, making them from harder plastic would result in more brittle and easily broken parts, like GI Joe thumbs for instance. I also agree that it sucks that they only give him a short rifle instead of the longer one, but I have so many clones, I have enough weapons to swap around so I don't care.

Eh, the "52" figures come out tomorrow, so I'll stop dissing toys for about a week.

52, as in, the DC comic book series. Not 52" action figures, because that would actually be cool.
