You know, the fact that you people respond to spambots probably contributes to them coming back.
1. Don't roll your eyes at me.
2. Ever notice that there's a little box you can click that says "NOTIFY ME WHEN A REPLY IS POSTED"? Most of these bots are all running the same software, and it's highlyplausible that the bots use this function to see if their spam is actually being paid attention to and that it increases the frequency with which certain sites are hit.
It was not an eye roll per se, it was more of a "look up" rather than quote the post... sorry for the mix up.
Also, now that makes perfect sense. I forgot that the option to notify of replies was even there!

Syd's definitely right. Hence why I myself never reply to any unless it becomes a silly topic due to a particularly hilarious response from someone else.
I think if you guys stopped replying to spam, then we'd be bombarded by it less. I mean, as it is there's 4 mods and an admin wandering around here so any spam usually gets deleted quickly, but still.
How so?
