Several of my friends were having sex in 7th grade with their girlfriends. The present state of things, such as children getting pregnant in their teens shows a growing trend. Kids are becoming sexually active at younger ages.

All the media can be blamed for this but so can a lack of sexual education. I was physically attracted to girls on a sexual level around 13 or so and the amount of girls that were available was very small. Now though you have little girls dressing scantly for the prime reason of attracting males or emulating the slut they saw on tv. Which for the most part they take on the whole persona. I've seen grade schoolers who look 20, it's not normal and is honestly distrubing.

I agree it would most likely lead to being a "fucked" up adult, but mainly in the sense of being a "whore" or a male "whore" as you grow up and typically those people end up with children at a very early age.

Knowing the mechanics of sex does not mean you are mentally or emotionally ready to have it.

All people are different so you cant lump them into a personal assumption. How do you know they aren't? Not saying they always are or even should be but you can't use your own beliefs to say none of them are.

Yeah, to be perfectly honest...that drive in me was the same from 11-20. I'm not saying it's impossible to believe that under the right circumstances, I would be permanently scarred, but knowing who I am and who I was, I highly doubt it.

One of my professors at CMU was accused of doing that with 12 students - the charges were dropped because every girl was lying, supposedly. It's hard to look at him the same way, even though he's innocent.

You just have to maintain a professional demeanor and don't get too close to your students. This is what I did when I was student teaching in College:

1) Don't add them on facebook - in fact, if you're a teacher, getting rid of your facebook probably would be the best option.
2) Protect your tweets on twitter.
3) Don't give out any personal or private information such as home phone numbers or addresses.
4) Don't offer to bring students home yourself if they can't find a ride - buy them a cab if you have to.
5) Don't freak out if they see you in public - you're a person too. I was at a hockey game getting a beer (last year) and one of my students saw me. I thought my life was over - apparently it wasn't.

Those were basically my caveats about my students. Being cool with your students is one thing, not drawing the line somewhere is another.

How do I know? Oh, I don't know, because they're fucking 12 years old?

Christ...do I really have to explain why 6th graders shouldn't be having sex?

No shit. I was like a walking hard on in sixth grade, although I didn't lose my virginity until I was thirteen (so around 9th). And Douche, I believe you'd mentioned the whole 'kids are having sex earlier' thing, but I really don't think that's the case as of the last thirty or so years, at least not in most cases; I've talked to some 40-50 year olds who said they were having sex just as young (especially in the sixties/early seventies, where AIDs still didn't exist and the worst you had to worry about was the clap or getting your lady knocked up).

Funny enough aside, teenage pregnancy is actually at it's lowest incidence rate in the US since the 80's. I'm sure the recession has a part to do in that, but actually, I think it was a Gallup poll or something similar that said MTV's Teen Mom was one of the primary factors for teenage girls taking less sexual risks. Go fucking figure.

Yes, I do, and...

You know what? Fuck it. If we can't even get past the whole "people in grade school should not be having sex" thing, I don't even want to have this conversation anymore.

Hell if I don't, that wasn't too long ago. Sex was the... second thing on my mind, I think.

I'm not saying they should be. I'm saying you have a preconcieved notion that because you are young you are incapable of having adult thoughts or rationale. A 12 year old could be the best surgeon in the world and you seem to be of the persuasion that says "You're to young to be doing this go play a video game." Maybe it comes natural maybe they have a chemcial imabalance, but to say they don't know what they want because "they're fucking 12" is simply an opinion. No I don't need an explanation as to why they shouldn't be having sex, I'm not arguing that they should be able to, but nor do I care if they do.

I don't recall there being an age written in scientific law saying when you should have or start to desire sex. We are animals, we have sex, it's in our DNA. For some it just comes earlier.

Ah... what happens when a species bests evolution only to be trapped by their own adaptation.

We are without a doubt some form of animal. Sex is definitely programmed into us. It most certainly impacts individuals separately. Everything you have said is true, but it misses the very important fact that we cannot survive as a species when reproducing at younger ages, at least not in masses.

Without the assistance of adults, most kids who become parents would fail at the task.

Of course, our modern society would help kids who procreate at young ages... to a point. We are able to handle the 1-2% of teenagers who have kids. If that number were to drastically increase, we would probably see a lot more infant and child death due to inability to give care.

Our species has developed rules, sometimes in the form of morals, as a means of balancing our survival. So, I actually think 6th graders should probably be told by adults that while it is healthy and ok to have sexual urges, it is not ok to act on them until they are capable of dealing with the potential consequences of their actions...

So yeah, kids should have sex, and it isn't because a law says so, it is because they can't fucking deal with what happens next without putting a large burden on others.

Oh, to clarify though, kids always have and always will desire sex, and that is normal, healthy, and important for our species continual survival.

I'm not talking about reproducing, I'm just talking about sticking a weiner into a vagina.

Regardless, it's still reproduction. Whether it's "successful" or not is irrelevant. Everybody gets hot for teacher - a very small, miniscule percentage of people act on it - and it's wrong.

Everyone needs "the talk" and good sexual education so they know what right decisions to make before they do something stupid or illegal. There's a reason most schools introduce it in middle school - they're trying to raise responsible citizens. Everyone is different, but there needs to be a standard set. Students often discover themselves around that time and they want to make sure people are educated to become at least smart in the field and become productive members of society.

Teacher/Student relationships shouldn't even be a thought until five years after the student graduates. If you're a 38 year old teacher of a 23 year old college graduate whom you taught, maybe there's nothing wrong with it. But you can't even put that thought into your head for a long long time. Jail time is needed. That's a crime.

EDIT: This was on the comments on the page. Weird

Quote:
Look at the chalkboard behind the teacher at 1:45 through 1:52 and you will see eight numbers.

The numbers are 20, 9, 8, 19, 25, 12, 15, 8

Now change those numbers so they correspond to letters of the alphabet: 1=A, 2=B, 3=C and so on...

The numbers on the chalkboard match up to these letters: 20=T, 9=I, 8=H, 19=S, 25=Y, 12=L, 15=O, 8=H

So the "letters" on the blackboard from left to right are: TIHS YLOH.

Now read it in reverse.

"HOLY SHIT"

Easter Egg! Wink

How is it any different from 12, 13, 14 year old girls back, oh, more than a hundred years ago marrying and squeezing out babies? The only thing that's changed is that they aren't getting married, they're just fucking. At least now, in most cases, they're not banging dudes twenty, thirty years older than them. Society hasn't changed much, at least not once you get past the surface elements of things. We like to think we're evolved, but we're still the atavistic, impulsive fuckers we've always been. Monkeys wearing dockers...

That should be a band, or someone's screenname.

And I completely agree. It's all about what society deems acceptable for you. That's not to say you should be fucking at 12, but underneath, you're still an animal. And when I was looking at my science teacher, I was indeed an animal.

The only things I recall from 6th-8th grade are getting suspended from school for calling myself in sick to play some Harvest Moon 64 and discovering the internet's true reason for existence. Smile

I lost my virginity around 13 or so, at that time I was ecstatic, but I probably should have waited. Would have been a rough road if I'd have procreated by mistake.
