I was wondering if anyone ever dabbed into Dreamcast emulation?

I just downloaded Nester DC- Special Edition and its a great little CD that brings back alot of memories. Also I am loving the Japanese Shumps on the DC.

The DC can NES at full speed but it can't run the Genesis/SNES at full speed for some reason, I always wondered why this was.

1: Look, the forum rules state that this kind of talk about emulation is not permitted here.
2: Meh.

A combination of the 16-bit emulators requiring more power and the programmers for said emulators not working on them enough to tweak out the problems. Your problem probably won't get fixed, either. It's not like a ton of thought and resources are being given to Dreamcast emulators anymore.

I've played the SNES emulator on my Dreamcast, it worked ok. And before anyone says I'm breakin' da law, breakin' da law, I just happen to own every SNES game in existence, and I just happen to have legally backed up my property onto my hard drive for my own personal enjoyment. No, you can't see my collection. She lives in another state, you don't know her.

No one is going to ask. Either.

Syd just doesn't want un-needed attention to his site when people start searching for this stuff.

Anything falling in this category should be reserved for Abandon Fairground/NWO Forums.

I was under the impression we can share as many links as we want as long as they are in the private forums.

The reasoning as I understand it is that if someone searches Dreamcast Emulation and one of the first things to pop up is a thread in Sydlexia, that's just bad for the site in general since emulation isn't the focus. If this were a Warez of Emu site it wouldn't matter.

That's exactly it. I just wasn't really clear in my explanation.

There's no excuse for emulating Dreamcast. You can get a used Dreamcast for $20 and then burn as many games as you like it for it. I'd like to think everyone has $20. $20 is the new $5.

It's not a DreamCast emulator I don't think. I'm pretty sure it's emulators that play on your DC.

I got mine for like $30 and spent an extra $10 doing stuff to it to get it to play some imports I bought. It was totally worth it.

I'm not a bad enough dude, but I am an edgy little shit. I'll do what I can.

I remember having a NES CD that a coworker burnt for me back in 2001. It was a wonky setup but it had all the NES games on it. I can't remember if the VMU saved your data though.

I remember the days of burning emulators FOR the Dreamcast. (Not OF the Dreamcast).

Back then, you had to use a 3rd party program to infuse them right so that they would be self-bootable and wouldn't need a loader disc. It would make them into a CDI file with your ROMS added in. Then there was only one or two programs that would burn them right. (I think that was what got me to originally start using "Nero Burning ROM" I think I still have my NES, SNES, and Commodore 64 custom made discs stashed away somewhere.

I loved the C=64 one, because it was the only thing the Dreamcast keyboard was good for other than "Typing of The Dead."

Oh... so it's even more fucking useless. You can run an emulator on fucking ANYTHING. Who the hell cares about NES emulators for the DC in fucking 2011? Play it on your damn computer.

Well back in 2001, when I had it, ROMS weren't that popular and it was awesome playing them on a tv rather than my 15 inch CRT monitor. But yea today it's mostly useless.

Dreamcast requires no modding like an XBox or Wii and I like the controller, Along with playing Japanese SHUMPS I didn't get to play back in the day .

Sorry I brought this topic up, go ahead and close it.

I love the Dreamcast but I absolutely hate the controller for it. Damn things break too easily.

I Hated that the VMU function of the memory cards only lasted for about a week on the shitty watch batteries they took.

The saves still work fine, but none of my 3 memory cards have worked as VMUs in a decade.
