Obviously he was mentally unstable, or had other issues building up to his snap.
On what can society do? I think in public school, I think teachers could play bigger roles in building confidence, unerstanding, and creating an open atmosphere. I also think they can step in when they suspsect or see bullying to stop it then and there, adn enabe the student that they have a safehave, outlet, and channels to go to deal with their problem.
In the school it is up to those employees to manage and make the environment productive and safe, and I agree the parents ought be active in their child's life, and some do not (regardless the reason some more legit than others), and there should be outlets in these cases.
I'm very sad to hear what happened on both ends, there is a lot potential in everyone, and it all turns in to a large waste in poor circumstances. We can't deal with every case, but we stive to offer options for everyone. You'll all be in my prayers.
