It might be a corrupted or really glitchy version of SMB, like Super Glitch Bros.
And I own Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World. Unfortunately, the D-pads on my controllers aren't working very well.

My thoughts exactly. The Slot Machine Bonus Round is in SMB2 and the P-Wings are on SMB3.

Obviously I also smoked crack before writing this... the pwings are from #3... as is the slot machine I was referring to: line up the top/middle/bottom to make a flower, star,mushroom (but I think there was a similar one in smb2)...

In smb2, you use the coins you collected to activate the slot machine and line up 3 turnips, 3 cherries, 3 sevens, etc.

How do you conceive that bonus game in SMB3 to be a slot machine? Yes, there are three parts and they cycle, but they're horizontally aligned. Plus, you're trying to put together one whole picture instead of getting rewards for different combinations of smaller pictures.
If slot machines had crotches and someone kept kicking one there, and it might result in that bonus game... but it's a far-fetched slot machine... still.
