So i have to go to new york and pick up my grandparents for some odd reason which takes 6 hours. Then were going back home which takes another 6 hours. I decided to take my FC twin, which plays nes and snes games, and grab super mario all stars, super mario bros, super mario 3, super castlevania 4, super mario world, super star wars, (i hate the word super) and mega man 2.
I beat super mario 3, then super mario bros, then super castlevania 4 (i was half way through when i started), and almost mega man 2.
Despite me feeling like a nerd their was nothing else to do

1. I usually stop playing after beating a game. I don't play many games that can be beaten in under 3 hours.

Instead, I started about 20 games in a row without beating them (FFX at last boss, Twilight Princess at 8th dungeon, Wind Waker near the end, another RPG at the last dungeon...)

I've beaten Ocarina of Time too many times to count. That doesn't include gold skulltullas, but it does include the main story line and the Biggoron Sword.

Dude, this is me all day. I get to the very end of games, like the literal very end (almost) and just not see it through. I don't know what it is, and it isn't every game, just a good bunch.

Nothing gets my brain in nostalgia mode like hearing "golden Skulltula."

Many, many sunny weekends were spent locked in a room, dedicated to finding those little bastards when I was a kid...

I did, but I cheated like hell because I was doing it for an article.

Not sure about how many, since I'm the kind of person who doesn't do marathons or anything. I guess I'm like Lavalarva and usually quit but the most I think would be two, I sat down with Zelda 2 and was on a roll, beat it and was still in the zone as far as playing goes, so I popped in the original Metroid and beat that as well.

I guess if you count Super Mario All Stars, I did sit down and beat all those, but that's with warps and such.

This is me too. I think it's because:
1. The start of an RPG is totally awesome
2. I want to collect every fucking thing I can before beating a game.

But I did just recently beat FFX after a two year break where I was at the last boss. Then beat the shit out of metriod 2!

Not sure if I've ever beaten more than 1 game in a single day.
I have, however, beaten Metroid twice in one day and Super Metroid twice in one day.
(And Super Metroid, like, 6 times in one week)

Depending on how loose your definition of "in a row" is, I've been beating games in a row for, what, 20+ years? Broken up on occasion by the random Ninja Gaidens or Battletoads.

Now if you mean CONSECUTIVELY, there was one weekend where I did the Mega Marathon as someone else mentioned, and a Legend of Zelda weekend where I played through everything up to Majora's Mask.

Not only is that not right, that's not even wrong. It's a meaningless statement. Saying something is "one molecule away" from plastic is like saying a farm is one letter away from a fart. Water is "one molecule away" from being explosive hydrogen gas.

I'm horrible about this. Its like I want to do all the side stuff, and get everything, then I get bored with it or something new comes out and it gets pushed to the wayside and never finished.

I do this with JRPG's a lot (Those who frequent the IRC know I bring it up a lot). I just don't have the patience to grind, so if I don't beat a boss in maybe the first five tries in a turn-based game, I give up, plain and simple. The worst for me was FF7 (really the first RPG I beat without help from anyone). I got to the Demon Wall in the Temple, and that stupid stone drop attack of his kept insta-killing me. After about 8 months of sabbaticals and re-starting games from the beginning, I beat him by pure chance. This remains as one of the two times a videogame has ever gotten me to jump in the air and cheer (the other when my Counterstrike clan won our match to get into the top ten of the OGL).

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind.
